Hi!
I'm a member of the "SpanishCity.net" forum in Spanish, and I've heard recently about this nice place :) So here I am...
This is my first post here in this forum. I really love the MK & DS music so some years ago I tryied to learn to play guitar. Today, I try to play some DS tunes like this, ever guitars & vocals. I hope you enjoy this one!
Played with a Les Paul guitar, recorded with a JamVox interface and mixed with the Audacity tool.

Welcome Cesar.
The soundclip sounds great! And your vocals are scaringly similar to Mark's!

Hi Cesar! Welcome to this forum!
That was great! I really enjoyed listening and will try some of the others too! :)
EDIT: I have listened to most of the rest now and I really enjoyed them all, but especially SOS and Local Hero! I liked your voice too! :)

I'm going to take a look for other people playing guitar here ... There's thousends and thousends of guitar players in the whole world who likes to imitate mr. MK and play their songs like me :-)
Best regards from Spain ...

I listened to some more of your stuff. Well done, I must say! You really have nailed the Mark style, and your vocals are very similar to Mark's. I love Mark's guitar style, but I have never set out to imitate him or to play his music note for note. I've used it more as an influence or inspiration.

sounds great !
your singing and playing are beautiful !
what are the guitars on others tracks ?
the tone on Sultans and 6 blade knife is more satured than the originals ...but I like it, very bluesy
your tone on once upon a time and message in a bottle are really great !
do you use backing tracks already produced, or do you play all instruments ?
I tried Audacity with Asio-tonelab ST, but it didn't work. I use REAPER now, and it works better.

I just discovered a second version of SOS and also another page of songs! I think I now like version 2 of SOS the best! Also Six-Blade Knife, TOL, R&J and Down to the Waterline are so good that I almost forgot it wasn't MK playing! :D

It's a pleasure for me to know that you like these covers! ;) I've just uploaded a new one "Darling Pretty", I've just finish the recording right now ::)

I don't like to copy exactly the original songs, os imitate 100% the Knopfler's style... I like to change some little things in order to play these songs a little bit different :-)
Totally agree,... BUT :
the Gibson Les Paul Traditional (I liked to play Sultans of Swing in a some different way)
I know it's psychologic, but can't imagine Sultans on another guitar than a strat ;D
The last week I bought my new Stratocaster 61' (similar to the MR.Knopfler's), a fantastic hand-made guitar, so since now I will use it for new covers :-)
did you find a left-handed one ? Did fendre produce left-handed guitars at this time ?
Or did you the same as hendrix ?
I think there's no big diferences between Audacity & Reaper for mixing ... Both works fine.
I don't know why, but when I used audacity with ASIO, the program shut down all the time ???
