Some months ago it was announces another "Classic Radio Broadcast" cd live from Mark Knopfler that was announce also like this one but in the other forum, "Silvertown Blues" i think it's called, and there, even seeing the cover and the tracklist, it was believed that it was genuine even the cover had a bad picture of MK...
An official release with MK in the cover!!!! isn´t it crazy? LOL
After that experience, I was sure that would happen again ;D
-
Cool cover, John Illsley looks like very interested ;D :lol

I guess basel or nimes, as they are the most usual boots of that tour but, if it's FM broadcast it might be Woburn or... Copenhagen? I think there were other FM broadcasts of that tour but incomplete
-
Always a dissapointing to find out these new boots just being the zillionth version of nimes or basel in that same quite poor quality taken from some vhs transfer. However, sometimes interesting things do get released, like the following right now: https://www.discogs.com/Dire-Straits-The-Long-Highway-On-Every-Street-Tour-Rarities-1991-1992/release/12911436

sources would be nice to know..

About the sources: don’t know of course, but you can see which concerts the songs are taken from on the back cover picture, see the link. Dublin 91 and Dallas, Paris and Seattle 92.

And we already have more complete versions of all of these. For "original bootleg" collectors only.

It would be interesting to know that because the On Every Planet bootleg appears to come from the monitor (or something) because there is no audience sound, similar to the ones from Earls court 05.06.92 and LA 2001. This states it is an FM radio broadcast however... :think

It looks like tracks from a Dio concert. There are so happy from his solo career, songs from when he sung with Black Sabbath and others from his period with Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow.
Dio was an amazing singer.

Mee too, yesterday. And yes, strange tracks order, and very "minimalist" package (even with no indication on what concert is). By the way, as far as I know, it is the first Oslo '92 Silver Pressed bootleg, so it worths have it for my collection.

Only a bit disappointing that the photo on the front cover and on all 5cd's is not from any of these years. Not made with such love and care as the ones from Diamond Records / Golden Eggs for example.
-
changed the title into something a bit less speculative.

Yes, that's the reason I didn't bought that one...

Maybe it's better "New Dire Straits / Mark Knopfler BOOTLEG cd coming" so anything that it's a bootleg can be announced here?

Yes, looking forward the Golden Eggs release of The Notting Hillbillies live at the Ronnie Scotts!!!!

That is indeed a great example. I am afraid though it is stuck in the post system in Spain due to the terrible situation we are all in... but of course, receiving a cd is not important in this case. Hope everyone is well.

Yes a couple of us waiting for the new NHB bootleg. But no rush at all for me, there are worse things happening right now than a slow shipment.

Are there more copies available of the NHB bootleg? (I was stuck in Sri Lanka for a few days but now I know of it's existance I would love to buy a copy as well)

coming in the end of may. but it is probably the San Francisco gig and the Nimes gig on dvd or Basel i believe. But its strange that they already released the San Francisco gig last year and now last time in the 5 cd box that came a couple of months ago and the Nimes gig they released last year on dvd when it says live 1991 on the cover. I have wanted more they release live records from the 91 shows or early 92. and of course from 82-83 and 85 but it doesnt exists many of them i believe therefor they release same concerts all the time.

Check this out, new bootleg's coming out :)

Very interesting silver press bootleg cd, this is the earliest DS recording we know!
And also includes that famous encores with Talking Heads!
Funniest cover ever, look at MK and John faces!
Also nice back cover, check that "Wild west end" is titled like in the demo tape, that was the original title of the song "Walking in the wild west end"
Also "Me and my friends" is titled "Me and my band", that I always suspected was the real title of that, as MK sings "Me and my band" during all the song...

nice one, but to be accurate, the very earliest live recording of DS we know is the Eastbound train live version from Hope & Anchor december 77 ;)
and of course studio demos from july 77 :)
but you are right, this one is the earliest full gig we know :)

The MK 2cds silver pressed bootleg of the Royal Albert Hall is already on presale in ebay. The seller puts copies in small number and when they are sold, he puts more, so if you are interested, keep checking.
This is really special to me, because as many of you, I've been a regular to the RAH since 2005, I met a lot of you there, at the pub, or outside the venue. I have so great memories of being at the RAH for MK concerts that this one makes me very happy.

I fully understand that some of these new ones can get people exited and actually buy them, for example the coloured LP´s or something. They look nice. Musically its the same songs we already have I guess. Nothing new right. Personally I stopped buying bootlegs when I joined the MK forum many, many years ago, and other options became clear to me :-)
So somebody out there is making good money of already known material, they just have a pro presser for CD´s or VINYL, print the covers and sell them.
They probably sell MK/DS and many other artists as well. Plain stupid and illegal. But they fill a market because the MK/DS management is too lazy to actually fill the market with legal, new exiting products. What a shame....

Pretty much how I feel about them these days. Years ago I'd buy them at record fayres and a certain independent record shop I know and I'd get new shows I hadn't heard before, but now they're just recycling stuff and it's a con.
-
Recycling stuff... Of course as long new recordings doesn't show up, at least Golden Eggs is releasing stuff that didn't existed on silver pressed bootlegs.
Other labels are just re releasing stuff that exists with various titles and covers, usually that didn't match the concert!

Today the RAH bootleg arrived and is spectacular...
Not only that, but also today, the "angel of mercy" label (the one that released that two colored vinyls boots) has released the Zaragoza concert in a double cd, silver press bootleg.

Ohh, I would love to hear that. I always thought Mark looked cool in that jean jacket too.

a pity that there was never a decent recording for that show. reaaaaaallly wonder which this new one will be sourced from

If you consider how noisy and impossible to listen were most of the 92 Spanish audience recordings, this one is like a soundboard!
When I got it in 1992, I was amazed because it was very listenable. I was too used to listen recordings like the Madrid, Gijon or the other recordings where you hear more the audience singing and screaming the songs, than the songs themselves... Zaragoza in comparation is very good, you can listen to the songs very clearly without the crazyness of the audience.

Haven't listened to these shows for a long time and for that reason. Back in the day I would listen to them quite often and not complain too much. :lol

I'd like to have Sydney 86 on lp but with such an incorrect cover I'm gonna ignore it.

That Zaragoza-Show is also on my wantlist. Looks interesting that Digipack-edition. :thumbsup
By the way, i prefer the "Brothers in Sydney" 2-CD-Set with the last show, because it is complete with Molly Meldrums Intro-Speech, the Press-conference with Molly, Mark and Ed, with Waltzing Mathilda the speech and the outro of the show. Red-Devil-Records RD-058-1-2. :)
Some other 2-CD-Sets are edited, like Thank you Australia and New Zealand by Pluto-Records. That was my first Bootleg-Set with that concert
Yes, the Live in Sydney LP-version was produced in a "lazy way". I actually mean the Cult-Legends LP-Album. That concert offers such great versions of songs and the feeling between the band and the fans is amazing. They should produce a 2- or a 3-LP-Set with that show, incl. So Far Away-Calypso-Version, the great Industrial Disease-Version and the Guitar-Duel with Mark and Jack on two young lovers and the stunning guitar-intro of that song. Those highlights are worth to be conserved on great vinyl. That´s my opinion.
