Love it already. But doesn't this really need a solo? As a playing out... I am not one of those who crys for solos all this time, but here I have the same impression as when I heard Hill Farmer's Blues from the album  for the first time...

But very cool song. 8)

Well, if you don‘t call the small licks here and on Watch Me Gone „proper solos“, then at least Ahead of The Game features one  :smack

No.

They do radio edits for the radio stations, always, I remember two radio edits for "Good on you son" and "Back on the dance floor" which were shorter than the versions of the record, what we have on streaming services are the full songs.

I never heard in any radio the radio edits mentioned above, and they don't exist in any cd single further than radio promos, but seems they have to do them for the radios anyway.
I have heard the radio edit of Good On You Son a ton. Very rarely did the radio stations that played it go for the album version.

My thoughts as well... there was plenty of room for some more soloing at the end.. but he didn't... But cool vibe

Just read a similar comment on Facebook regarding its similarities to BB, to which I totally agree. 

Better than BB for me.  Nice song if nothing spectacular.

I like it, but it's like you both said, I like to where the songs seems to go, except it didn't go anywhere in the end...

A very JJ song, I specially like the effects on his voice and Ianto drumming is very cool.

Great song! I love the groove and vocals. I'm also very happy with the return to riff-based songs, even when there's no solo. Must admit, I expected some kind of bridge or solo after the second round. Anyway, these three songs excite me much more than basically anything on Tracker/DTRW.

It seems that both Ahead of the Game and this song feature riffs that use open strings.

Just listened to it and I love it, there is plenty of room for a solo but it's just the way Mark does things now and I'm happy with it, my favorite from the 3 new released songs, love the vibe the JJ approach. Im a happy man :)
