I can't see that this is a question of fairness. Would it be fair to MK if he only did what the fans wanted him to do? And what do the fans want? If you read the different MK forums, the fans doesn't agree on what they want. So the fans as a group can never be pleased. And these shows come as an addition to the public gigs, not instead of, so it's not that we are left out.

No, imo fans doesn't deserve anything. An artist should do what he wants or needs to do. If the public like it, they buy his art and attend his shows. The ones who don't, well they don't.

Well, see it more positive: KTGC promo was the first with showcases. If there wouldn't have been promo gigs like these, nobody could win either, nobody would complain. Now, a few people can win tickets for an exclusive show. To have or not to have. :)

My guess is that MK loves to play all kinds of gigs, the showcases included. Or else he wouldn't do it.

How can I say that?
Most musicians love to play in front of any audence, the challenging ones included. Challenging audiences often give them (us) an extra kick.
MK says that he is one of the fortunate few that does what he loves to do, namely play gigs.
I think he has total controll over his carere.
When MK is not smiling when he is playing, it's not because he is in a bad mood (not always, anyway), but because he is consentraing hard on what he is doing.
Guy says that the showcases are fun.

Remember: MK is an independent artist with a lot of money. He doesn't need to make records or play gigs for a living. It's all bonus for him. But, of course, he needs to sell records to finance the tours (according to Guy).

I don't think MK does try to take the fans' perspective at all, not us Knutties' anyway. Why? Because it's impossible to please us, with all our different and strange ideas. Therefore he just does what he wants to do.

OK, but the KTGC showcases were the first were "normal" people could win tickets. :P

Great, I'm so happy for you.  I totally agreed with your initial point but it's great to know that at least there'll be at least one true fan there!  Have a great time (I'm sure you'll manage) and don't let PC's pre-show antics spoil your night!

There will be around 30 true fans there. Initially it was to be a press media show only but thanks to the hard work of a well known spanish fan, that 30 true fans will be there.

I really got lucky just for the invitation, I have to get lucky with my shift works for this week, and I
