The mention of a "wild best friend" has been bugging me for a long time... Is MK talking about his guitar? As in, he is walking in the Wild West End with his guitar.
"And I’m walking in the wild west end
Walking with your wild best friend"

Why not just litral interpreting? His or "your/one's" best friend is wild and "crazy" like himself (young man). They go to wild west end in London where are music, cinemas, club, Chinatown, stripper and enjoy this things together.

I could be wrong, but I keep coming back to a visual, of MK with his new red strat, going around London, and just having the time of his life. He stops for his coffee beans, gets a pickup for his steel guitar (and the waitress is picking up on him (“I saw you walking out Shaftesbury Avenue”…). Then he flirts with the conductress with whom he has (or had) a rendezvous. Then goes to Chinatown for lunch, and then on to a strip club, where he just passes by. Seems like all activities he might be doing on his own. And maybe getting a lot of attention, as he’s walking around with his new strat…

Maybe, but for me not plausible.

Yeah I also don't know but.. doing all the things you mentioned while carrying around a guitar?

Hahaha, I guess it is a lot of running around. Still wondering if his guitar has helped lend itself to some of his adventures.
