At the moment, we are hoping to go on the 21st, because it's the last date and also the train fare is cheaper for us on weekdays.  It would have been lovely to meet you there and others from the forum too!    :)

btw Does anyone know if it is GA or seated, or both?   ???

Interesting option  :)  Only one gig also for me.
Need to discuss with my government when back home though because I have that Rome gig the week-end before.
Cancel Rome, go to London instead : that's a good move.  ;)  I won't be too greedy.
Thanks to (precious) angels writing on the forum, we knew there was something cooking and could be ready to face a late announcement.  ;D

I suppose that means that overseas BD fans will be inundating MK.com because they are excluded from their own pre-sale!   ::)

Not necessary.

The ISIS arrangement operates only for subscribers to that magazine. It is done in conjunction with another Dylan fan, who handles the administration and has also got a separate but overlapping list of "subscribers".  The arrangement is only available to those who subscribe; it is only used for UK shows; it is operated by Bob Dylan fans, not Dylan's management or any other outside body; it is an arrangement made direct with the UK promoters; the number of tickets made available is fixed in advance; payment is not available by credit card (only by cheque drawn on a UK bank); and it is all done by good old-fashioned "snail" mail.

It is therefore separate from, distinct from and very different from the arrangement operated by "bobdylan dot com" - which I have never used - and from what I know of the arrangement operated by "mark knopfler dot com". As I understand it, those two fan allocations: (1) are available to anyone (as long as they sign on to the artists' websites); (2) apply to shows across the whole tour in many countries; (3) are operated by the artists' management (or agents appointed by the artists' management); (4) can be paid for by credit card; and (5) you can book on-line..

The ISIS arrangement should not be confused with the artists' own arrangements. Confusion has arisen on this occasion because the London shows have been announced separately from and later than the other shows on the tour.

One benefit of the ISIS arrangement is that the administration costs are much lower. For example, if you buy two top price tickets to all three London shows, the ticket cost would be

Many thanks for that explanation, twm!    Will you be using the ISIS service?
Title: Re: BD/MK at Hammersmith Apollo
Post by: twm on September 17, 2011, 11:22:47 AM
Yes, I will. The two cheques are written (one for the tickets and one for the admin cost), the application form is completed, the two reply envelopes are done (one for confirmation of the order being received and the other for the tickets to be sent) and they are all now in an envelope already to be posted off first class today (or tomorrow).

There are a few things I didn't mention. Subscribers got an e-mail advising of the arrangement; the application form is downloadable. But you have to be an existing subscriber.  Also, if you cannot make the show, you cannot sell the tickets yourself but have to return them, so that they can be sold to another subscriber-applicant who was unsuccessful the first time round. All the seat numbers are noted on issue and a close check is kept on eBay and similar sites so that, if you break this rule, you will not be allowed to get tickets this way in the future.  In addition, there is a limit of two tickets per show, so that as many subscribers as possible can benefit by this arrangement. Also, if you get really good seats for one show, it is unlikely that you'll get such good seats for another show; there is a serious attempt to share out the best seats amongst all subscribers. The allocation, in terms of numbers of tickets available, is likely to be smaller than the number of subscribers who want them, so there will be an attempt to let those who want tickets this way, but won't get them, to know as early as possible, so they can try to get tickets through other means.

This is done by fans for fans - but it has operated for many years and works well, due entirely to the hard work put in by the people who set it up and run it.

Very clear explanation twm . Thank you.  :)
I agree Isis - as a UK independant magazine- has the right to do a UK-only sale for their subscriptors.
Well done guys ! ;)
I still don't like promoter's and artist's game. Too dark.   :(
I believe artists should remain the first ones to organize a pre-sale for their fans.

Another amazing thing about www.markknopfler.com

When follow the link to purchase the tickets for London, if you try to search how much it costs because as you really spent money in other shows you want to know if you can afford this new adventura, well, you get this message:

There are no products in this category at the moment. Check back soon for new products

And the presale starts tomorrow...  :o

I hope that tomorrow, when the presale starts, there is a valid link to buy tickets anyway, and at the very same time you can think if you can afford it or not.  >:(

Interestingly only a handful of members on MK.com post anyway these days, so the increased membership is all about tickets!

My regrets is not to miss the Alchemy gig or BD double bill there but to me the real deal was 1988 Mandela Warm Up gigs. I'd have loved to be there to witness my two guitar heroes together (wayback machine where are you?).

London trip are expensive and if any in the future that will be for a full long MK show.

If DVD release planned I hope it won't be for this mini tour but the next big one.
