Your most favorite picture of MK.
« on: September 22, 2008, 11:12:09 PM »
I just thought it'll be nice to see what everyone's favorite picture of MK is.  By the way, how do I add images ?

Thanks,

Hi Sweetsurrender.
To add an image to a post you have to open the "Additional Options..." section which is just below the box you are typing your post in. There you will see Attach: with a box then a browse button to select your picture. The following text gives the limits re size and number of photos also:-
Allowed file types: doc, gif, jpg, mp3, pdf, png, txt, zip
Maximum attachment size allowed: 128 KB, per post: 4

Hope this helps
SL1

PS - you are also able to use your favorite picture as an avatar on all your posts. Again size limitations apply. If it is too big the software will reject it, and you will need to go to MS paint or similar to reduce the size and the re-save the photo.
It can then be uploaded to your profile, by clicking on "Profile" at the top of the page, then open "Forum profile information" and then follow the same process as above to add the picture to your avatar.

I like the one in my avatar because I took it.
I also like the one of him on his knees in Chicago '85 (Poplar Creek) because he waved at me with his fingers still up to his forehead just about 2 seconds after the picture was taken. Still the highlight of my life.

Knopfling,

I always like that picture too.  I didn't realize that you were the one who took it. Lucky you!!  My favorite one is the black and white one taken believed in 79 of Mk leaning back with his guitar taken by Sean Hennessy.  Tried to copy the image , but somehow I couldn't do it.  I found that picture at Photbucket.com

I like that one too, SS. Actually I dont' have too many pics of him that I DON'T like!! I'd like to put up a few I took at Berkeley this year but I'm too stupid to figure out how to reduce the sizes. If my geek ever comes to fix my comp, I'll get him to show me how.

SweetSurrender -- I took the picture in my avatar.

The picture of Mark on his knees at Chicago '85 was taken by a professional photographer, Paul Natkin of PhotoReserve. I used to work for a magazine that bought a number of his pictures for publication, and I recognized him in the audience taking pictures at the Poplar Creek venue in '85. That's how I know that picture was taken just seconds before MK waved at me. I was over to MK's right just a bit. It was taken during the opening of "Solid Rock," when MK wasn't playing and had a chance to look into the audience. The picture was part of an article in one of the guitar magazines about MK's many axes.

I love that picture, too.  I think of it as one of the most 'famous' photos of him.  How cool that he waved at you, knopfling.  I saw the video where he did that -- moved his fingers at someone -- now I know it was you!  It would be the highlight of my life, too.  After the birth of my children, that is.  ;D

Knopfling, OMG, it probably wasn't that concert at all :-[   Maybe he did that sliding onto his knees thing in other concerts and waved with his fingers because I know I saw a video of that somewhere.  When (if) I figure it out, I'll let you know.  Sorry to give you heart palpitations. ???

Thanks, Val.  I'm sure Alchemy is where I saw the knee slide.  I just watched it recently -- I love those red sneakers and red jacket ;D

Oh, well. It would have been nice if my moment with MK was really immortalized on video. I'll just have to settle for that famous still picture instead. I know that one was taken at my concert because, as I mentioned, I recognized the photographer before the concert even started and know where he was sitting.

MK was looking up into the audience of 27,000, most sitting on the grass above the pavilion. I was 5th-row center. For some reason, I was the only one standing at that moment in the area. I began waving my arm from one side to the other, and it caught MK's attention. He looked at me and smiled. I smiled. He waved with his fingers. I waved. He smiled again, and I smiled again. Just a few seconds, but a great thing for me.
