Thanks for your efforts on this forum, Dan!  I'm late but lucky!

Yes, great work Dan, Nelly and others. The forum is damn impressive already. Simple Machines is working out fine.

Are we included on any search engines yet? We need more members!

I wouldn't really want to try to post about this new forum on MK News for fear of upsetting TK, but how about the "other" official forum?

I don't think we want to annoy TK - remember all the good stuff he does, fan pre-sales, getting tickets for one off things like the Variety Club lunch, BBC Music Club etc.

let's not get into the TK discussion here now shall we?
seriously, besides the good things he has doen, there are many, many not so good things.
if you start a thread on his persona (which we will not of course as it is ridiculous, and not in the spirit of what this forum should be about )you will see not only "good" comments, is all i wanna say.

and may i mention that normally it is not done to plug a forum in a forum of the same interest? at least not a fanbased one ( ithink it should be possible on the official one)

Yeah, I know all about TK. All I'm saying is, lets just imagine for a second that our forum (and maybe the other official MK forum) are so successful that the MK News forum effectively "dies". TK gives up. We may no longer have a conduit for pre-sales and the one-off things I mentioned before.

This is really nothing to do with TK, purely self-interest on my part as I want to continue to get the best seats etc.  :)

Dusty - I was always under the impression that we ordered our tickets etc. from MarkKnopfler.com and not from MKNews, so it wouldn't make too much difference.  It's nice to have MKNews, though, to keep us up-to-date with, well, news I suppose!   ;D  Maybe it would just be MK News Fans' Forum that would disappear.

yep, i ordered through the official forum, not the TK forum
and any news appearing on there is not really news anymore for most of us insiders.
i for example just found out that Geraint Watkins will appear on stage together with Mark at the Joe Brown thing in September...

Oh well, I thought TK had a hand in it as well, perhaps I got that wrong. He definitely offered tickets for the BBC Muic Club thing, and the Variety Club lunch.
