Back in January, Mark took time out with Phil Cunnigham to film for the BBC programme, Artworks. The programme will be broadcast on BBC2 Scotland at 10 pm, May 17th.

Great news. All these wonderful little surprises keep popping up. Thanks, Allen.

I guess this is the BBC program that AMIT editors were contacted about. :)
Even if it's only shown in Scotland, people in England with Sky TV dishes will be able to watch it.
My DVD recorder isn't working but I'll find some way of recording it and upping it if need be. :)

The programme is annouced by BBC 2:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b007xrwz
and they have an online player, but it is avialable for UK (or Scotland?) only:

Could somebody in UK to record it?

Upload it to laknopfler-tk trackerr, please ;D

Just watched it, really, really good show.
They used "our" photo. :)
Lots of nice chat from MK, some of the same stories but nicely shot. Nice shots of MK and PC playing some of MK's favourite songs from childhood.
MK looked great, hard to believe he's 60. You could clearly see the marks on his face from where he had just taken his glasses off though, very vain MK!
-
Thanks very much, Dusty. We're really looking forward to your upload. Is there supposed to be something else on 17th May?
-
think mark is into botox dusty?
also, did they "mention" the forum as source of the pic?? ;D

I think they just changed the date,
No credit for AMIT for using OUR photo sadly. ;)
-
Hi dusty! I recorded the programme too, but I will leave it to you to upload. I thought it was a really good programme and I enjoyed it very much - one of the best programmes I have seen lately with MK and much longer than usual - 30 mins. Phil and Mark looked very relaxed with eachother and the snippets of them playing together were beautiful, especially "Irish Boy". I agree MK looked very good for his age! :)

wow, how could i have missed that. thanks allen.
-
Cool stuff. If my brother's recording came out it will be from Freeview, so in theory it will be slightly better quality. In practice the difference will be negligible though.
-
Better quality versions are always welcome, especially dusty brothers made.

There's a part on this film that really makes me laugh - at around 24 mins, Phil is talking about his teacher and sending a postcard to him, saying "I am in Bermuda, where are you?" and Mark's expression and body language is priceless! Love it! ;D

Dusty, what about this version:
If it's from a Sky HD source I expect this will be very good (even though it's not actualy in HD). Certainly better as a direct capture than the other one which would have involved re-processing by the DVD recorder.
-
I see, thanks. But still, your version is superior?

I haven't seen my brothers version yet but I would imagine that the version on Dime is best.
All three versions are from a good source however and you are only going to notice any difference on a very big TV screen I imagine.
-
OK, I need a new TV set now. ;D
-
real great innerview.
been a while since i last saw such an enjoyable innerview with mark, and why, coz he plays the axe goddamnit!
also love it where he speaks "irish"...

I absolutely loved the part in the studio with all those wonderful tunes they are playing and of course when Mark sings Piper at the ending that moment gave me goosebumps, I guess as Mark is getting older we are going to have more simple breathtaking acoustic tunes like that! And Celtic music is growing nicely everyday on me ! Cheers to all!

Thank you Allen - and to Dogswede1 for the upl as well! Haven't seen it yet, but I'm keen to see the 'cut-scenes' also. Phil and MK spending some hours together, there must be at least ~ four hours material developed from this meeting.
-
I had tears in my eyes when they played Piper.. What a beautiful moment.
-
Thank you very much for uploading it onto YouTube. Had a first watch this morning and was about getting too late to work because I couldn't break away from it. Will watch it in a moment again and complete and again and again. :D

I saw the interview at Youtube as well and ..........Ooohhh man I loved it to see him so relaxed and to listen to his music and songs! :P Great interview and I also want to thank DogSwede for posting it on Youtube! :-*
Btw let me ask a stupid question "Do we know DogSwede?" ....Is he/she posting here as well and perhaps using another name? I often saw his/her video's at Youtube so he/she must be a big fan as we all are. I wonder if he/she is a member here or at MKnews as well! ::)
