The Masiakasaurus knopfleri! ;D
The question said:
"What kind of animal was named after Mark in 2001?"
The key word here is "animal" so I would think the correct answer is dinosaur.  They didn't ask what kind of dinosaur, did they?  I agree the question isn't very well thought out.

This was my answer to that question  :

"The Masiakasaurus knopfleri (a species of dinosaur)"

I can't be more complete I think.

Mark's OBE was 1999 I believe and offcourse The 96ers as backing band.

I think the same way they did with the Get Lucky signed cd s.

well no because the get lucky cd winner will be drawn from the mailing list.
the bonus section is another thing, innit?

Well it is been 10 days since the day they said they will reveal who were the winners. So I guess there won't be any winners for this one either.

Indeed. ;) I answered the question as "a dinosaur species, named "masiasaurus knopfleri"". :)

A multiple choice type set of questions would probably been better.  Can you imagine the final one:

What is the nickname of Mark's current band:
a) the '95ers
b) the '96ers
c) the '97ers

I know sometimes they can be quite patronising for the hard core fans such as ourselves but we should be understanding that not everyone would know this.

A better idea would be just to pick names at random from MK forums! ;D

Actually... the band shouldn't be called the 96ers...where are Chad and Jim... :'(
they should be called the 08ers ( Matt & Danny are in the band since 2005 and John since 2008... btw I love them)

I miss Chad (when you listen to the boots with him on drums, in comparation, Chad was a far better drummer), but Matt Rollings is a very good keyboard player (even better than Jim that was a genius, and obviously far far far better that Geraint "Uncle Fester Adams" Watkins) and the addition of John McCusker is absolutly great.

I think this is the best band MK ever had, althought the 96ers could be applied as Richard, Glenn, Matt, Guy and Danny were involved in the GH record from 1996  ;D

Very interesting stuff you say here because personally I didn't like Chad at all and as for Jim Cox, well I did have great admiration for him but he really was a jazz pianist and his style didn't suit the music of MK in my opinion, especially his extented solo on sultans.  John McCusker is perhaps being overused these days, "just shove a cittern on this song so you're not doing nothing," and I hate the sound of that damned cittern.  Also, how come John Illsley was the only one who can play bass on sultans properly?  Glenn Worf goes on and plays his own wee tune towards the end.  Makes it just too complex by far.  Excluding these minor gripes, I'm pretty happy the way things are right now with the band! :)

Well, John does play other instruments beside the cittern (which btw I love), like fiddle, Scottish flute and whistle, so there's not much chance of him standing around twiddling his thumbs, is there!  Actually, I think the cittern, on tour, elevated "TLWNF" from being just a very nice song to something wonderful and it was one of my favourites.   I think the band is pretty OK at the moment, probably the best solo line-up.   :)

Fair enough if you like it's sound but I just think it's got a horrid sharp tone that sounds the same all the time on every tune and quickly becomes tiresome.  I think it ruined TR on the last tour - there was simply no place for it there and it took away one of MK's solo's. :(

The only thing that will elevate TLWNF for me is the mute button - a very average song to be polite! ;)
