How long was brilliant. Like the old blues number of the same name, if you know which one I mean. My absolute best was Planet of the New Orleans.
Come on, it is not funny anymore.

I liked How Long but though then it wasn't fitting the album. Actualy it was Mark just teasing what the future was about...

It's funny, 'cause I never hear anyone talking about When it Comes to You. It's probably the one I play the most from OES. Wonderful feeling, singing, and soloing. It was great with Hillbillies too, of course, but I think the OES version is excellent. Love the dark atmosphere, the drumming, the rhytm guitar, yeah, yeah...

"Set me free, sign my release" - not exactly a cute love song this one.

I was at the concert in Leeds 1993 when "How Long" and "Ticket to Heaven" were both played for the first and only time!   It was at The Town & Country Club and there was an amazing atmosphere!    I will never forget that gig! 8)

Was there in Wercher too for my second and last ever DS show, standing on first row in front of John. I bought my tix just a week earlier and had to miss school to go. There was plently of parkings (not free) but on the way back I could not remember which one where my car was parked...
The first one being in Paris just one month earlier and was graced with "Iron Hand" instead that I found a way better choice than When it Comes To You. But no PONO which for me was THE song of the tour :disbelief The break during TR solo in Werchter was nothing but unbelivable (well almost in my memories).

I like that recording myself - listen to it a lot.  Right between the recorded Nimes and Rotterdam shows, the band were playing well at that point.

I remember very well how I listened to OES the first time - on release day. A friend of mine had ordered the CD for me and after school, I was anxiously awaiting him. When he had delivered, windows, doors, shutters closed, eyes too, and listened completely in one hour from the beginning to the end... I was totally impressed, nearly shocked, because the anticipation had been so high. I didn't like Ticket To Heaven from day one, and still don't. The sound was really awesome, it was one of those moments in life..

Next day in school I was "interviewed" by all my friends - "so, how was it?"  - I had not been able to keep my enthusiasm as a secret... I remember Heavy Fuel, The Bug, Calling Elvis and My Parties on heavy rotation throughout the first months... years.... those were the times... and two weeks later my first concert ever, Dire Straits in Bremen, Sept 26th, 1991...

And next year I will visit the same venue again, to see Mark, 22 years later... If someone had told me then...

It is a Notting Hillbillies concert. Maybe you were searching for a DS concert?

I looked in the NHB section, and searching for leeds and country club didn't help either
