Never treated Roadrunning as a solo album, despite almost all songs written by MK. But since official site stated it like '9-th STUDIO album', so it makes sense. But his DS albums are also stuido, so why not '17-th studio album'? Including DS, Hillbillies and Neck And Neck. It should be 8-th solo studio album.

I agree with that. The thing is that www.markknopfler.com states Privateering as the seventh MK's album! Did we miss something?

It's a double album, so it counts for two  ;D

I don't like the lots of extra songs announcement at all

higher number of songs = lower quality

I want an album with just 5 songs and the first lasting 14:15

The link below states that the release date is in January 2015.

Also, there are some guest appearances on the album from Ruth Moody, Bruce Molsky, Nigel Hitchcock and Phil Cunningham.

Many of you have enjoyed the cover, but I think it's just cheap. There's a shadow at the begining of the perspective, MK is too far and not focused, those electric poles cut oof the sense of "wilderness", and the position of the photo is slightly bent to the left. I'm sure vgonis would do a better job even with a cellphone.

Don't mind if it's cheaply made or not.  I prefer that to the loud vulgarity that is the Get Lucky album cover.  As Randy Newman once said:  "It's Music That Matters."  Well, nearly!  ;)

Agree with those comments. I like the simplicity of the cover, and this puts our focus on what's inside....

I like this picture, but at the same time the image itself worries me a little.
It seems to me he goes away, and nothing can prevent him from doing that.

Surely MK was on the OES cover?
