Sounds really great. Groove is intoxicating. I love the synths and background vocals on this, also how Mark's vocals move from center to the sides during the chorus. Can't wait to play this on my hifi tomorrow. This tune will work great live, I should think!

A bit lazy to recycle the Terminal of Tribute To melody, though. ToTT was of course just a bonus track, so it's not too bad, but still.

Also, I know it's a terrible thing to say, but sometimes miss Mark's gruff voice from when he smoked.

so; was my description faithfull ? ;) ;)
the video is avalaible now

it's exactly the main melody of Terminal of Tribute put in a different dress, soul/rock dress (as you wrote), pretty good overall.
can't hear anything of OES out of it tough.

guitar sound, global sounding/production...I find it sounding more OES era than solo years

well if you just need a rock guitar sound + rock base/groove to sound DS, then yes... but can't find anything of OES atmosphere/melodies out of it

Some guitar parts and the sound reminds me of Last Ship from Swan Hunter:

I hear the same atmosphere than on When it comes to you, millionaire blues or even start of PONO

of course it's not excatly the same sound/production, but I hear the same feeling

and BTW , OES is my less favorite DS album, so pensa sound is not what I would call sounding Dire straits. I'm more into early years or LOG/Alchemy, so of course I don't want to say that it sounds like the pic of dire straits,
BUT regarding last albums like Tracker, privateering, Get Lucky, KTGC, I think that this song is closer to what we have in mind when thinking to "dire straits", especially the last era, than recent songs like long cool girl, basil or silver eagle, etc...

The guitar parts and sound reminds me of I Think I Love You Too Much. Maybe a bit of Ride Across The River too.

The melody of the chorus is similar to ABBA's S.O.S.. Go to 0:45:

The atmosphere of the song reminds me to Willy de Ville's and MK "assassin of love".
You might get lucky, now and then
