Funny Live Lyric Changes
« on: September 15, 2008, 01:17:04 PM »
Let's talk about any time when MK makes funny changes to lyrics live.

Today I was listening to the Florence 05 Crowfly recording and on Money For Nothing MK clearly says "See the little faggot" which is usually "queenie" or something these days, but then goes on to say "That motherfucker got his own jet airplane, little motherfucker he's a millionaire."

I seem to remember him saying "Check out guitar Hal, he's my pal" on Sultans too.

Any others?

He got a lot of flack for the faggot line.    People couldn't understand that he was speaking in the voice of that yo yo.   Same with motherf**ker.   Although I'm sure that the phrase has passed his own lips more than once.     I saw a picture of him a while back with a baseball cap that read:  "F**k off!"        Kinda makes him even more human, huh!

I think the mentioned baseball cap pic, is on one of the pictures in the 'Love Over Gold' 81/82 tour programme. If memory serves me right.

Not so funny, but a whoops!  In Berkeley this summer, here came the line:  "Here I am again in this --- town. . ."
And he inserted "Frisco."   Problematic: 1.  Berkeley is not San Francisco.  It's across the bay, and Berkeleyites are proud of their own identity, most definitely not appreciating being called Frisco.
Even residents of San Francisco loathe the word "Frisco."   It is San Francisco or "The City."
The audience adored the concert but MK did not get a huge cheer when he did that.   Of course everyone was freezing half to death.   Daaaaaaammmmnnnn it was cold!

As Mark Twain said, "The coldest winter I ever experienced was summer in San Francisco."  :)

I liked the climate in SF (one of my favourite cities in the world), I don't like it too warm.

In Expresso love he used to sing "Hey Knopfler, you wanna take a walk in the wild west end with me, sometime"
You might get lucky, now and then
