Glenn Worf - Beyond The Gatehouse
« on: November 14, 2013, 05:45:23 AM »
A part being a great musician, he's a great human being. It about a movie, and, am I hearing "The man's too strong" on this interview ??? what a wonderful version !
The credits says : Bassist Glenn Worf shares his thoughts about recording the Beyond The Gatehouse soundtrack.
Filmed by John Albani at Sonic Eden Studios, Nashville, TN.
"The Man's Too Strong" written by Mark Knopfler.
If I realised that the chances were slim,
How come I'm so surprised when the tide rolled in

Thanks! Great to see The Man on youtube for the second time in just one month.

It says it'll be released 22 November:

You're right, Val, it is a great song and version.  I did a search and found that it is on a CD which Ebay has listed for $15.00 plus shipping.  It also lists the 19 tracks on the CD and Ebay didn't list it as Mark's song, but other songs were listed with their song writers.  There is also a free concert in conjunction with the launch of the CD.  Too bad I'm not in Nashville! :'(

Yeah, because MK doesn't have to play any guitar on it.  That's the only reason he'll consider an old tune for a current tour. :(

What was that he was playing at Wembley '85 then?    :think

His Ovation Adamas but what I meant was there were no guitar solo's. ::)

He'd probably give that part to JMcC on his rusty, err I mean trusty cittern.

It matters not one iota!    It is one of my favourites on the album and in concert- solo or not!   Solos aren't the be-all and end-all - it's whether it's a good song that matters and it IS a good song!   :)

I agree.  If he were to choose one from BIA though, I would prefer RAtR.  Plenty of room for a flute in there and some nice guitar playing.  I think it's a much better song too.

I know we think MK is some kind of God, but I really don't think he has the power of resuscitating dead bodies, after that terrible drum job of Terry Williams had murdered RAtR a long long time ago  ;D ;D ;D
