:thumbsup
I remember that day. I was coming home from school. I had an album on every street in my backpack.
-
I remember that day very well. I bought the CD in town and when I returned, my husband had just painted the front door, so it was open to dry. I listened to the CD over and over and I'm sure the whole street must have heard it!
-
Bought it on cassette the day of release - blew my mind!!
-
Bought my CD in my local branch of Woolworth, a chain which is now no longer in business for those outwith the UK. They had a box of badges by the counter, one free for every album purchased. Mine lives beside the '85 and '96 badges in helping to keep moths at bay in my wardrobe!

Very nice.

Indeed, very nice dmg :clap

Thanks LE and KF. The '96 pin badge is very HQ with a good weight to it. It's the kind of souvenir you buy and are very satisfied with later.

A real keepsake - similar to my MK Golden Heart badge/brooch I have somewhere!

A collectors item I'd say....

I have the 96 badge.
It has sat in a drawer for 25 years!

"Le groupe lancé 14 ans auparavant s’en va, discrètement, sans esbrouffe, presque innocemment, de façon aussi simple qu’il était apparu à l’été 77...
Beautiful words!

Yes, very nice and cool pins. Also the Live in 85 pin. I also own the sister-pin of Live in 86 from Australasian-leg of BIA-Worldtour.
I can remember a radio-teaser for the OES-Album on the German Radioprogramme. I can recall it was a portion of the Calling Elvis intromusic and a German promotion text by a radio-host. Something like that: "Die neue Dire Straits - Bald erhältlich". (The new Dire Straits - available soon in your local record store). It was a very short radio-announcement.
Yes long time ago.
Here is one artifact from my collection. For remembering.

Wow, that's rather cool! Nice piece there......
-
Very nice presentation piece. Never seen that before.
I should say that my original 1991 CD stopped working. The foil started flaking off the top and it started to skip. I always take extra good care of my CDs - handle by the edges and put them away in their cases directly after use. Really poor quality. I bought a replacement prior to the '96 remasters.
