Sorry to interfere during the live setlist and thank you for posting it real time regaran.

Bercy has always been a special place for MK -- he said it various times in interviews -- so I was hoping for a return of Silvertown Blues tonight but it seems that this one has gone, at least for now.

Hope it will return in future shows, I think it fits well in the set before or after Postcards and before On every street + Speedway.

Everyone there I hope that you enjoyed the show.

We all have expectations, some are fulfilled, other aren't. Whether it's his final tour or not, I'd say that it's a pretty nostalgic tour.

I'm seeing them in a few days. I expect nothing but spending a couple of hours with some guys that have brought me so much joy over the years. I'm sure I will relive a bit of this during the gig and that ain't that bad after all.  ;)

Yeah, I wish Once Upon would be a little bit faster, but hey, it would mean faster solos and this is not what Mark is up to it seems, because he's an "old guy". Totally acceptable for me though, because his solos over this song are cooler than ever. Cooler than 35+ years ago.

I loved the slower version of Once Upon. It was much more like the original recording. A very funky feel, more like the original Dire Straits sound. And that’s one of the coolest sounds there is.

The tempo of Once Upon is actually fine, judging the song on its own, but the issue is that whole string of songs from Sailing up until Paraguay. With the exception of Bonaparte, which is not exactly a rocker, everything is so mellow and low tempo and similar. And both Sailing and Once have that fairly long part where they trade solos.

Boosting the tempo of Once just a notch AND keeping SIlvertown in the set would have helped quite bit. (Leaving out SIlvertown is a big mistake, I think.)

I think it's quite incredible really that out of the 16-17 songs they play, more than half are slow/slowish and quiet.

What a night !
I was worried at the beginning, during the first half of WAM it sounded as if half the instruments were gone... And Mark signalling right away to stop filming... But things got much better then, great atmosphere and playing :) too bad SB seems gone for good...

Paris always had the tradition to start the Run Of the Bulls earlier than anywhere else. In 2010 it was at speedway instead of TR. In 2015 Paris completely redefined the concept of ROTB, started at Sultans, half of the concert standing in front of the stage ! :) Yesterday didn't break that record, but hey, ROTB at Postcards, not bad ! ;) Fabulous MFN, 2 greenies in BIA, too bad, but still a fantastic night.

100%.  It's a very pedestrian show.  Best parts are the first song and the first encore (unless you are lucky enough to get BIA).  It's all very professional and well done but you feel it drag a lot and sit there waiting for the next song at times.  Silvertown is a pretty slow-building song though in the vein of OES, so I don't really think it makes a difference.  There isn't a climax either but we've been through that.

was there yesterday ,with wife and kids.
I decided just to enjoy the concert without any concerns regarding set list, errors etc...It was clear for me that, being supposly the last tour, all that counted was enjoying this moments...And I did...
I found the set very emotional ....and of course I would have liked SOS, TR...but you can not blame Mark for not being the one he use to be.....
I can fully understand that if he thinks he s not able to play a song "correctly" that he wants to skip it.
RAJ and BIA were beautifully played...and I must admit that tfhis is the show I' ve been where I heard the least errors ....
Was just a perfect evening....

Is it just me or is the Speedway solo shorter?  Seems it just doesn't build up to much before it finishes.

To be honest I think he hasn't come back from his break yet.  It seems he's taken the week off to reflect and thought he'd take the foot off the gas.  Not a good thing when you were crawling along in the first instance!

There isn’t necessarily a connection between age and BPM in music. He might just prefer to play the songs in a certain tempo because he thinks they sound better. If so, I agree with him. I really enjoy his tempo now and all of the more slow songs from his catalogue, and I’m  only half as old as he is...

Yes. Faster does not necessarily mean better.
Best example, TR in 1992. The end solo, granted, was out of this world, but it just didn't fit the song. This was a case were the playing was *TOO* fast. I was more a show-off exercice, really. As if Mark was so bored with this OES tour that his only distraction was demoing his guitar skills... Subsequent solo versions in 96 were way better and perfectly suited the song.
This being said, I like it fast :) I prefer up-tempo versions of BIA (1985, 2019) to slow ones (1996, 2001).  Same for MFN, 1985 was fast, I like it better than slower Knebworth 1990. But MK  is  right to say that the song in king, too fast can be harmful. Like  Going  Home  in 1985 with Henk, it was up-tempo, too much I think. And  above all, this TR in 92, out of the world but otherwise ruined by lack of intro, abuse of pedal steel and sax, and unsuitable pace...

So.. he has told People to turn off camera light in Gothenburg and Paris so far.. maybe more places earlier this tour? Anyone remembering?

People should know better. I recorded from front row and has flash off all the time and still got great picture.

It is the most annoying thing on this tour that on many evenings MK has to tell one of the people in the first few rows to stop filming.
You can see how irritated he is because of it long before he actually says it aloud and thus spoiling the song not only for himself but for the audience and for those who buy the recording. Many R&Js were spoilt by this reckless behaviour.
I have repeatedly asked people in front of me to stop filming since the big smartphone screens are distracting.
Really unbelieveable but a sign of our times.

R&J ? Didn't see him do that was it during the first song ? Is that when people film with their (useless) flash led on or just film in general ? I'm guessing the former as that is even annoying in the audience when you have the back of several people brightly illuminated while someone is capturing a video snippet for a "social media" post (and no, not for a great YT share that we all enjoy).

It was during R&J for several shows and has now moved to the beginning of the show.
The recordings will (unfortunatelly) give ample proof of that. (Of course I hope they edit it out but have little hope).
And he says it not only to inconsiderate people using flash but to other filmers as well.

His irritation will most likely be in the soundboards... Didn't he say "stop filming it's putting me off" on a soundboard that's already available??

Lucca 2015 has Mark telling security to back off so won't probably be edited out..

In Stockholm he was looking at my compact camera sometime with the flash OFF all the time, did not say anything to me...

People don't think, they just shoot their videos with lights and everything.. but yes, what might reduce this would be an official announcement of a live tour DVD but most likely not happening...

R&J ? Didn't see him do that was it during the first song ? Is that when people film with their (useless) flash led on or just film in general ?

It was during R&J for several shows and has now moved to the beginning of the show.
The recordings will (unfortunatelly) give ample proof of that. (Of course I hope they edit it out but have little hope).
And he says it not only to inconsiderate people using flash but to other filmers as well.

Even a fixed camera with soundboard audio would be a solution. Crockford could announce before the show that "on behalf of Mark and the band, the audience is asked not to film during the show as it is distracting. Also there is no need to for you to film as the concert is filmed by us, and the video can be downloaded after the concert. But now, will you welcome to the stage ..."

It's not that hard.

His irritation will most likely be in the soundboards... Didn't he say "stop filming it's putting me off" on a soundboard that's already available??

The only comment is that Guy as always said Mark gave them nothing, and Richard said he signed a couple of things. Guy lives in the ideal world.

What about the French fans ?
Other than the "Run" towards the stage (that also happens at other MK concerts apparently) I didn't notice anything special ? It seems security tried to push back the first "runners" but that didn't last too long, hehe...

Love it! - In cars after the show, we headed for the Boulevard Périphérique and with Mark, Glenn and myself in the lead car, the guys in the vans behind were witness to some hair-raising antics. When we pulled up at the terminal (there is no facility for private jets here), a few fans who thought it would be a good idea to follow our convoy dangerously close, grabbed their albums and sharpies and surrounded us as we got out of the cars. They had driven like lunatics to get here, all for an autograph, which… they didn’t get.

That "selfie" reminds me that they had a GoPro Fusion 360 camera on stage to the left of MK (see below), has anyone seen footage made with that camera ?
