Anyone with pre-sale tickets? It's my first time going to Wizink Center and I don't know where I'm supposed to get the tickets. I'm trying to ask them but they're not answering yet.

Should be a box office/ticket office close to the venue?
Some are located outside next to it, I'll look...
Edit: I found this (Wizink home to R.M basketball)
"Ticket office at WiZink Center:
Open from 2 hours before the start of the game."
Should be similar with the concert. My venue box office opens 2hrs before concert and box office is outside close to the venue. Guess it's something similar here although I am not 100% sure

They said something like that on the purchasing e-mail, but I just wanted to be sure. Thank you!
Can't wait to see Mark!

Going to Madrid to my third concert in a row, and the last one of the Spanish part. Next will be London.

I hope to see any important change in the set tonight. We know that there is one song in which Richard plays a blue rickenbaker that hasn't been played yet.

Isn't that Mark's guitar; it's on the litho?
-
On the litho there is also the Baldwin guitar that Richard plays in "nobody does that" if I recall well.
The technician with that guitar in the picture is Richard's, not Mark's.

That´s what it used to be, but if you watch some videos of this tour, you´ll see people in the first row when he plays OES....
-
Barcelona - after Silvertown
Valencia - before or after speedway (not 100% sure)
-
Fingers crossed for the appearance of BIA tonight 8)
And why not skake the setlist up again and do Marbletown, HFB?
In this continued way we cannot really be sure what to hear when it's my/your/their turn....

I would not mind, always nice if there could be an unexpected surprise.. Let's say they keep doing this with a couple of songs without a certain pattern, that would leave it exciting ;D
-
I have a feeling that the setlist will not change. Perhaps WAM is back as opener. Nothing more...
:think

:think
Yes that is my feeling too, although I am hoping for BIA/HFB/KOG to appear sometime again, let's see...
OES seems standard now, in 2015 it came in for real during the US part.

Tonight I dream in a SOS 96 version or in Water of love to cover the first album-
It's time to play One song at a Time and Back on the Dancefloor-
;)

Yes OSAAT I can't beleive they have completely dropped so far, the solo in the end could be a perfect closer.
How about WTD á la 2001 style? Good versions.
-
lets hope WAM is back, loved Barcelona's version

I agree, anyway what I deside that will play too songs possible, Get lucky or Trawerlman or Dreamsubmarine ecc :P

After listening to the Barca version several times I can kinda understand why they skipped it/postponed it. Did not sound «tight» enough to me

agree but can see what there were trying todo , still really liked it though

I have a feeling WAM comes back. Richard wrote in his diary that they where kind of thight to catch the plane after the show?! Maybe thats why they took it out?! We will see. I’m also curious, love the setlist so far especially with WAM :). But OSAAT is also for sure welcome ;D

There are always many songs welcome ;) We'll just have to accept what they play. Like I have posted several times, OSAAT/HFB/KOG/BIA is something I want. Most of them probably not happening, unless they start to switch between songs, which has not been the case so far ::)

Very true! Ofcourse a lot of songs are welcome ;D. Yeah it will probably stay more and less like this setlist. Maybe some small changes... I’m happy with what he plays, especially this set, unfortunatly we can not have it all ;D. But we only had 2 shows, so a little bit early to know completely :thumbsup. Curious what he plays tonight!

They've only played two shows! They will want to get the songs they're playing tight before they start introducing new ones I reckon. Plenty of time yet for changes.
Once Upon a Time has replaced HFB so that's not happening, which is a good thing musically. It also gives "the brassies" something to do. BIA could be played instead of MFN at some stage however I think the latter is a nod to DS and a gift to Guy, Ian and Danny.
Did I just coin a phrase there by calling them "the brassies?" Well, we do have "the folkies!"

I can do without HFB, BIA and Marbletown now - there's so much else to play either from the album or material seldom or never played before. I need to hear On The Dance Floor, OSAAT or perhaps Drovers' Road.
The "brassies" sounds just right dmg! ;D
-
OSAAT is an absolute must!!!!! Drovers Road would be immense Live....

I thought broken bones was the worst opener ever, i was wrong.
What a way to start a concert.....
Okay, things can only get better from now on :lol

Agree, Bones was actually better opener
-
I'm in the minority, I guess, but I like NDT. It could do with a touch brisker tempo and more oomph though. But as show opener I think it is fine. WAM has been played to death IMO.

It's cool. Best performance of it so far tonight.

I like NDT as an opener, much better than Broken Bones....

Broken bones are still worse..God that sucks
-
BB is not the best.....
-
Oh hold on CBC tonight is rather lively - like it!!!
-
I like NDT as a song too. But what I don't get is why they did WAM only one time and then drop it already :hmm I don't care if it's the opener or on another place actually
-
BB is not the best.....
Still better as opener than NDT. Fine squeeze NDT into the middle of set, but opener... No :disbelief :disbelief WII would have been ideal...
-
CBC is another one that I don't care too much about, but on this tour they play it a bit quicker than before, and the brass section - again - lifts it to a higher level. So great Mark decided to add the horns.
-
NDT :disbelief :disbelief :disbelief
Where is WAM as opener :thumbsdown
I'm not sure whether I should feel utterly disgusted that I most probably will not hear it again, or insanely lucky for deciding last minute to Barcelona.
Probably both.

Stunning intro there on STP. :o
yeah :clap :clap :clap
-
Some issues with the voice after yesterday, it was not smart to play open air yesterday
-
Is it me or is something wrong with his voice?
-
Stunning intro there on STP. :o
Totally
When Knopfler does Knopfler, things work well. For that reason, i seriously think taht Why Aye Man should remain as an opener, not "Superstition meets JJ Cale" :lol
-
Sounds like Johnny cash in his last Concerts, very graspy old voice...
-
Love the fact that there are more background vocals this time. But seems as if Mark is losing his voice!
-

Its not marvellous but it works well with the brass section and the up tempo....
-
He wears a scarf at the pics in the wineyard yesterday. So it's possible yes.
-

Suspect he got Cold in Valencia, thus the scarf/neckerchief at the winery....
-

The Strat sounds 'sweeeeeet'
-
He wears a scarf at the pics in the wineyard yesterday. So it's possible yes.
yes, the problem is that he had to sing in the evening during the concert

I think so too, in 2015 he played it also once in a while ;)

Toilet break now!!!!!!
It's busy - Pottel's in there!

From release at now, in every tour, in every gig, he had always played R&J, never leave out, sure that is his favourite song that wrote

He says goodbye to every city...

He says goodbye to every city...
Yes, MK will say that during each concert....

I like bacon, but it hurts every day, even if the solo is valuable ::)

Matchstick Man

Seems like the best gig so far IMHO. Mark playing better and arrangements evolving a bit.

My qualified guess... Same rest of set as the prevoius ones... Except last one which is either GH/PTTE...
Why not do some more variation? Sorry for being negative but losing hope in any major variation.. maybe just me.

HFOH is just lovely, I really like the Trumpet in this.....

Yes indeed.. just wish they could swap one song from the set here and there...
Most likely no OSAAT tonight either... Can't believe they drop the album's best song :disbelief

Well, i think is nice to hace the calmed-acoustic intermission in the central part of the show before the big sounding numbers (Silvertown, Postcards, Speedway).
Also, it´s clear that MK need a seat time so badly
-
Moan - I'm not really fussed what gets played as long as it does!!!
I'm grateful of getting to hear the master play live whatever he wishes to play :wave :wave

Well said. Who would have thought we would ever hear Silvertown MFN and OUATITW again.
Okay, the opener is not my thing but hey, the man is 69 and needs a slow start.
I forgive him ;D

Yes indeed.. just wish they could swap one song from the set here and there...
Most likely no OSAAT tonight either... Can't believe they drop the album's best song :disbelief
You can't drop a song what's never been played ;) Patience. Last tour they played 29 different songs.
Whatever... Drop from being in the setlist AT ALL... Happy? :lol

I am enjoying spending the concert with all of you here online. :) Just wanted to say that!
As I get older, I actually enjoy talking about the setlist - even being disappointed once in a while and wishing/hoping for certain things like OSAAT. At least I know I'm not alone. Only three shows in, an amazing band and a great sound system tells me there are still secrets left to uncover between now and September 22.

In the beginning i thought it was really bad. Like he had a cold or something. Now he sounds as good as ever.

Maybe Portobello Belle in Dublin :)

A bit intense BGV he-he

So looks he plays from most albums except Tracker and Ragpickers Dream, if we count with Piper.
So sad WAM temporarily/permanently dropped as opener...

Who is doing those backing vocals Guy and Danny?
Yes. Danny has made a valuable return not only on vocals though, don't you think?

The combo MFN-Piper for the encores is very astute: The eighties hit plus the song that sum up his whole solo career with a feeling of farewell.
Very suited for the last tour

Agree. Also happy to hear Mark's playing is as good as it is. I honestly feared we were in for a trainwreck situation. He will only improve as the tour rolls on. At least until he starts feeling bored :D

I wouldn´t say that is rubbish, but is true that this kind of songs lose his "spirit" of introspection and loneliness feeling when are played on an arena in front of thousand people.
However, i think that YLT is one of the best songs that he has written over the years. Even so, i think that the song would have been perfect if MK had put a small jazzy solo before the final sax solo (a la Paul Franklin in the OES tour). But don´t ask me, i´m not the genius :P

Don't get me wrong I really like the actual song but nothing live has ever come close to the studio version. It's just one of those songs that benefits from studio production. You cannot replicate the guitar fills on stage either.
-
The YLT riff actually sounds a bit like Clapton's Layla. They should make a rock version out of it :D

I like that a lot. The sound is a lot better on this tour and Mark's guitar has a thicker sound making this song especially sound much more like it did on the OES tour. I love the fills he plays and the outro. Curiously it was the only song tonight that didn't sound so good. Maybe some issue?

Mk on fire tonight...seemed much more relaxed...
Gotta say these concerts are getting harder and harder as I approach the last one. Was just watching him tonight thinking you're irreplaceable, totally unique and am gonna miss these kind of nights so so much...
-
MK was awesome yesterday night. I was looking at him and he seemed quite younger than he is, specially comparing him to the last concerts I've been to in Madrid...
Thank you for everything Mark.
-
Piper - Very special to me.....
Really nice song!
-
Happy to read positive comments from yesterday. It seems that quite many had opportunity to hear it.
I have always been happy whatever Knopfler plays. However, is a bit weird that they dropped WAM after one try. I guess they have played it in rehersals etc., so was it now total surprise that it did not work? I agree on comments that nowadays Mark needs easier songs to get warmed up.
And of course OSAAT would be fantastic. Is it even too personal for Mark?

Cool concert yesterday from what I saw/heard :clap
-
Already the best TR since the 2005 tour, also I really love how Danny is enjoying every second of it, what a band!
-
First one for me, Mark was very happy. Everyone was much more relaxed than previous shows especially Tom Walsh. He looks like he really has fun playing. NBD is a nice song but doesn't work as an opener. WAM was way better. CBC was great with the new arrangements. He played an extended intro for STP which was a surprise for me. It seemed to me that he had a bit of a sore throat in the beginning but he recovered quickly I'd say. His singing was far from the mumbling we have heard in the past, so I was pleased. Matchstick Man had me in tears. Seems like the perfect goodbye song. Really great atmosphere, lots of smiles around and I saw Mark walking a lot on stage. He has to concentrate hard I'm seeing and sometimes his fingers are shaking a bit, don't know what that means. In conclusion: way better gig and setlist than I've seen in 2015 so I'm a happy dutchie. Cheers

I also noticed his fingers were shaking a lot sometimes. About the sore throat it's quite likely, he drank 2-3 times on the first few minutes. I'm a happy spaniard too! If only he'd played SOS... But the setlist was very very good anyway.

OES tour flashback...
We had the karaoke part on previous tours... but now... we have THE BONGOS on telegraph one more time :lol
-
I guess WAM is a time constraint collateral victim, Mark had to drop one from the set and he chose that one.
Too bad as it was a great opener and benefited of the overcrowded stage.
Happy to hear that he is more relaxed because I witnessed a very uncomfortable Mark in Barcelona.

So yeah I will for sure sign the petition!
But a little bit hope I still have, his would be the perfect tour for a live DVD/Blu-ray :clap
