Ohhh, I need tickets  :o
As you all know, I don't have a credit card and I'll have tons of work to do tomorrow, so I really need your help! I need someone who can order two tickets for Frankfurt and one for Hamburg for me. I'll decide about Mannheim, Berlin and Cologne later on but Frankfurt and Hamburg are very important for me and any help would be highly appreciated  :) :) :)
If you can help me to calm down my nerves, please PM me  :)

Ah, the Swedish date is not on the day that I am in Sweden. :(

I must contemplate the meaning of life a little longer it seems.

God I feel in the same situation as you goldenheart, I have my other aunt in Hamburg and I think it seems that I will go there next year ,I am so nervous about the ticket presale as this could be my only chance to see MK live.

@ingridswing

The concert will be held at Sofiero castle, so it will be an outdoors gig. Usually these are non-seated so I am a bit troubled myself right now wheter there will be rows or not. Anyways.... (edit) I see now that there will be a VIP "Golden Circle" - but these have previous been both standing and seated. Oh dear...   :-\

Helsinborg is located in the same southern province as where I'm from. I'll help you  :)

The closest international airport is Malm

Thanks for the info, I will think about it. But 2 open air, with a lot of travel in between  ???

Actually I decided not to do Oslo.

On the other hand it would be nice to visit Sweden. Never been there. I will think about it very hard today  :) And what's the way to get into that VIP-circle  ;)
Title: Re: Germany, Austria and Sweden Dates
Post by: border_reiver on September 21, 2009, 12:04:23 PM
The way? I think you're automatically booked there since it'll be the "best seats in the house", as mk.com puts it.

Well, it's just a fancy name for a small area where you'll be able to stand. The outer area is for people with picnic baskets and camping chairs.  ;D

Oh btw, I called every Swedish agent I could get a hold of. As of now, 12:00 today, there is no other venue booked in Sweden. This sucks...  >:(

Post by: ingridswing on September 21, 2009, 12:08:02 PM
There are no seats, and I doubt the best seats in the house with mk.com will be the VIP-circle.
In Holland most of the time the circle is not for VIP but for people who queue very very early and wait all day and run after gates are open. Then the first couple of hundreds get a bracelet for circle-access.
Once it was able to buy tix for the circle.

Post by: Rollergirl on September 21, 2009, 12:12:37 PM
Yes Ingrid, come to Helsinborg, I am almost sure I'll be there. And I won't buy the tix through MK.com because it's open air with no seats, and I think the special VIP circles are seats on the side, with not such a good view. I was there 3 years ago and saw John Fogerty, it was fun, you can spend the day in the park, take a picnic basket and the family (I will).
Title: Re: Germany, Austria and Sweden Dates
Post by: border_reiver on September 21, 2009, 12:20:04 PM
It's just a name ingridswing! It has nothing to do with being VIP. It's just a way to be close to the stage and get to stand up without annoying people. Calm down  ;D

The area close to the stage is called VIP Golden Circle on markknopfler.com. But previous experience tells me this is just a fancy name. Once the general tickets are released people may choose to either stand (inside Golden Circle) or sit on the lawn (outside Golden Circle) eating semi-cold chicken and drinking cheap wine.

When you pre-book on markknopfler.com you will automatically get tickets for the VIP Golden Circle.

I called Hasse at The Tivoli (agent) in Helsingborg and the answer I got was "standing only". I once saw Tomas Ledin (Swedish artist) there and the "Golden Circle" was fenced for the ones who wanted to jump and shout close to the stage.

Guess they call it different for different occasions?
Title: Re: Germany, Austria and Sweden Dates
Post by: ingridswing on September 21, 2009, 12:29:18 PM
But the circle is not too bad. In Holland you are free to walk in and out the circle, have a drink or snacks outside it and go back and have a good standing anyway.

Rollergirl: I don't take a picnicbasket nor family with me in the plane  ;D Too heavy  ;D
If I decide to come it will be only me. And for some reason it attracts me to go to Sweden.
And of course it will be great to meet you Swedish and Danish fans! Hard decisions to make pfffffff

I am contemplating going to Denmark instead. Looking at the tour schedule there is space between Luxembourg and Sweden. Hopefully he'll play in Copenhagen.

It seems pointless to be the early bird tomorrow for standing tickets. The general sales starts on the 28th. The best tickets will cost 670 SEK. The tickets on mk.com are about 100 SEK more. For what? Nothing, at least at this venue. MK is getting less and less popular in Sweden these days. There will probably be no rush. Last time, for the KTGC concert you could find really good standard tickets two months prior to the gig. And that was in Stockholm.

I'll do Copenhagen too, that's also almost sure (will depend on the date)
Title: Re: Germany, Austria and Sweden Dates
Post by: ingridswing on September 21, 2009, 01:29:33 PM
The schedule leaves some place for Copenhagen the day before Sweden  ;)

Do you think it will be that big difference in price? In Holland the difference between normal sale and mk presale was about 2 euro per ticket (including all fees).

Do I remember well that mk.com didn't ask fee last year?

Haven't decided to be honest.

Helsingborg is also by the sea close to Denmark. I might end up attending both. Since there's no seating and no rush in Sweden I can play the waiting game  ;D

The presale starts tomorrow, it gives us six days to get info about a possible concert in Copenhagen.

But one thing is for sure, I will not use the presale for standing tickets when I know they'll be cheaper and much easier to collect when released on the 28th.

Post by: ingridswing on September 21, 2009, 02:13:29 PM
That's an option for me too, to wait a little longer and see what happens.
If Copenhagen is on friday it would be an idea for me to do both (or in those days I decide to do none of them. It changes every hour.

Better first concentrate on the gigs in Germany, they are seated  :)

I probably won't do both if they are one day after the other actually, I would have to decide and would probably do Helsingborg, because it's on a Saturday and outdoors, which is easier if I have my little one with me.

But Mark will come to Stockholm right? He has to!  :)

Last time I catched him in Karlstad, which is my hometown, and Stockholm. But I live close to Stockholm now so I trust he'll come. Seems stupid to divide the release dates for shows in the same country though.

Just read Guy's comment: "I'm afraid I don't see Stockholm on the list". Unbelievable! It is, after all, the capital of Sweden and sales have been good as far as I can tell. (Though there has been a slight decline over the years.)

I don't care about Stockholm, I live too far anyway but I am glad that if they decided to have only one show in Sweden they didn't choose Stockholm. Similarly, I wouldn't like them to play just the one gig in France and it to be in Paris, etc. The capital of one Country is NOT the country.  (especially if I don't live there  ;D )

Come to Oslo too/instead! Mk is very popular here. Everybody knows who he is! It's an extremely nice city, and the show is located in an outdoors public bath in the corner of a huge, spectacular and beautiful sculpture park. It's a part of the very nice Norwegian Wood music festival, so you'll get to see many other bands as well.

Of course it's worth paying up when you want to clinch a good seat, but what is this worth when there is standing only? Do they mark your spot on the ground for you?

Standing gigs is just queue early, very early  ;)

What are they doing ... the presale on mk.com is still running and they started to sell officially on eventim.de ?
I think  some fans have got probably in this way better seats than that one ordered on mk.com.

miriam, which tix did you get?

Huh, that is weird, I just saw it! Well, I got tix for Munich, Block A3 Reihe: 4 Platz: 38, and Hamburg, Block I2 Reihe: 7 Platz: 1. And I got a confirmation email... Let's hope they don't screw it up?! I received an email at around 13.30 this afternoon saying tickets are onsale now. So I logged in and went shopping...  ???
Title: Re: Germany, Austria and Sweden Dates

I also did not order tickets on MK.com because I did not like the idea of not being able to choose (or at least to see) where I will be sitting. But today around 13:35 _ I was online rather accidentally - I could get two tickets for Oberhausen, Block 2, row A, which means first row, pretty much in the middle :)

On the last tour I also got extremely good tickets from eventim and not from the pre-pre-sales.

The second concert I will see is Amsterdam. I still like the idea of standing (and being close to the stage if you are there early enough), like in those DS days almost 30 ys ago.

If I don't manage to get a seating ticket in one of the very first rows I rather prefer not to go at all these days. Seing the stage from something like > 20 meters - or even 50 m  =:(   is not my cup of tea.

Ingrid and joko, then I wonder why the best blocks in the Festhalle in Frankfurt, D and B, were blocked at eventim?? For first category you could only choose block A, that's the one on the side of the stage. I'll stay optimistic.

Yes but also in Cologne and Munchen there were very good places to book almost an hour after sale started.
But let's hope for the best. The only ones I know are RAH (not booked by myself but by Martina for me because I was away) There I have 2nd and 4th row, so that's not too bad. We will see what is going to happen. Almost every presale I was able to book in the very first minute, I have the confirmation with order received at 14.00, 16.00 etc. So this must mean I have very good seats. We can discuss it later when we know what we receive from them.

We can look at the confirmations together with the tickets.

If I go to Cologne I'll buy my tickets at the a bookshop in Aachen. I don't know if there is a "Mayerische" in Cologne (or elsewhere in Germany), but these bookstores often have a ticket service. Last few times I bought tickets there, they were kind enough to show me the places and gave advice about the best seats. ;)

I agree to ingrid ... I booked my presales also in the very first minute and received the confirmation within the first 30 seconds. so that should be very good seats ... the hope dies last  ::)

miriam, can you remember which rows were blocked in munich when you booked on eventim ?

Post by: goldenheart96 on September 25, 2009, 11:51:16 PM
joko, in Munich blocks A0 and A6 (very left and very right of the stage) were blocked, as well as blocks E2 and E4. There will also be a general admission area behind the seats, just like it was at the David Gilmour concert.

I checked the eventim site too, immediately after i got the ticketalarm email. I already ordered my tix at mk.com, but I was curious which seats are still available.

I only had a quick look at the seating-plan because I was very busy, but I was pleased to see that most of the seats that were available at mk.com were blocked. Sometimes you could get a few seats in those areas, but all in all I believe that mk.com already blocked the seats they need to fulfill our orders.

I am telling you this because I also took him to 2 French gigs and what do the frogs do? Instead of spoiling the fun, they give you ear plugs...
