Thanks for explaining.

So maybe this is it: The reason why MK so consequently abandons everything that's Dire Straits related - maybe he recognized that he indeed has not been the best fellow to have around and really changed... I could fully understand that he doesn't want to be remembered all the time at the years where he had another attitude...

Maybe it has something to do with the band concept too. Even some of the musicians were hired musicians, they felt they were part of the band (Tommy Mandel, Jack Sonni, Terry Williams...) but when they were left out from the band and substituted by another hired musicians, they felt kind of betrayed and disappointed by MK.

Now, he

yes the paradox is that he had more a "solo attitude" during his band era, while he has more a "band attitude" during his solo era....

and about OES era / Whitten quote, Guy said many times that they too much rehearsed for the OES tour....the exact microsecond...yes, well described for the music style during this era

About MK attitude during the OES era, I think its fair to add that MK wanted to do such a long tour as things at home were so bad that he ended divorcing Lourdes, so probably he was quite angry with things related with his private life during all that period, that affected his attitude during the tour.

Having a search for Chris Whitten quotes, here's an irrelevant but nevertheless interesting one. :)

very interesting, thanks

"the 2,5h shows"....well maybe at the very start of the tour, but the usual length was more about "only" 2h I think

the 2,5 hours shows were for the 96 tour...longest gigs in MK's career I believe

another funny thing revealed by Chris Whitten is that Pottel isn't the only one to have a pee break during songs... ;D
