Ok - cool - we know there will be an album and its title - plus the first tour date announcements - so its all looking good for 2015.

As an aside and an interesting challenge for our forum members to keep them busy between now and the album release/tour....im sensing (because lots of you are this way inclined) - the challenge will be......and this falls into DS/MK location info....the new game......"Find the field".....the winner will have ultimate bragging rights about being the ultimate dedicated Knopfler-ite!  As a guess it will be in the UK.....Southern UK somewhere.......Home Counties....? (due to distance travelled - i cant see MK travelling days to take a pic of him in a field!)......So where is the field?  Only recreating the iconinc photo with photo evidence will be crowned the winner....you cant just say....oh yes - its a field next to my house.....that clearly doesnt count - photo proof please!!!

I remember before Privateering was released some of the songs were on Youtube well before Privateering came out. Have any of the new songs that might be on Tracker shown up live on Youtube?

No - maybe because this time there was no Bob Dylan tour around before the album release where he would have had the possibility to play new songs already which therefore ended up on Youtube?

Interesting and great news all around. This must be one heck of a thought through album. Clearly the time span for recording given previous records has gone well beyond what they normally commit to. All the experimentation and tweaking is still going on and I presume it has to be mixed still. Surely this whets the appetite does it not? I am presuming this is a single record this time but hopefully maybe some extras may come out of the ether to complement 'Tracker' at some point. Hope so. 2015 looking good already!

Yes, you can count Neck & Neck as well, but it's all duets and singles, not a proper solo or DS album. So technically it's the first time then.
