It can‘t be that bad. Otherwise, don‘t you think he would do the whole concert sitting like in 2010? It seems his health is at least good enough to do it without sitting most of the time. And 2010 shows us that he WOULD do it sitting down, so..

he's just older that's all and with a few health issues I suspect......

Wonder if the stool may well be the way forward again tbh

The stool worked for B.B. King.
Knopfler, Oldfield and Gilmour is all the guitar I need.

Well, MK did a tour seated playing guitar as good as ever...

I agree.  Some of my favourite concerts were from 2010.   :)

I'm not so sure.  When you need to rock, standing up can help a lot and being seated also restricts breathing for vocals.  :-\

Everything was great from Manchester 2010, including all of the rocky songs.  Brighton was pretty good too!   MK didn't have such a huge belly then, though!   :think

Huge belly?  I thought it was a six-pack.  💪💪

Oh well, growing old isn't for wimps. MK said it himself. Time is a jetplane, it moves too fast.
We're all on the same journey.

I'm happy that he is still touring, even if that means "last big tour" nowadays.
I'm sure there will be dates at the RAH in the future.

Yes, ok. To a certain exent it depends on your way of life. But your genes have a strong impact, too.

I’m sad to hear MK is retiring from big tours but it’s understandable with his advancing age. iNotwithstanding this I still feel blessed that I have seen MK, NHB and DS in concert many times over the past 25 years and that we have YouTube videos to keep us interested when we need our fix. I’m also lucky like many of us here  to have the money to see MK in London and Prague in the current  tour. MK probably does still have back injuries and aches and pains, it’s part of getting old. I’m sure it’s getting harder for him to play like the early alchemy and BIA years. Many of his songs will be hard to play if you have arthritis and I’m sure MK is trying his best but like any professional it’s hard to carry on like this forever. We should thank our lucky stars that a guitarist has a longer shelf life than a boxer or footballer!  I wish MK a long life and hope he will still able to share his amazing talent with us for more years to come even if we only get less concerts. I personally would love an new album of extended solos from the DS/MK old catalogue of songs. As kitty says his “twiddly bits” but on steroids! I think this would be a big seller!!

Why do you all say MK has arthritis? Keith Richards’ hands are completely messed up now and he still plays. Paul Simon retired at 77. Springsteen is also 70 this year... I think MK is completely out of physical shape and perhaps he is indeed suffering from some chronic disease, but his touring retirement has nothing to do with age.

That's the reason he gives, "I'm an old man, this is a goodbye"
You might get lucky, now and then
