Title: David Gilmour
Post by: cvstahl on March 29, 2020, 07:09:58 PM
I know there a few PK/DG fans on this forum.....so I thought I’d ask this question here.

I’m looking for a DG release that’s David Gilmour - The CBS Promo’s
I’ve seen some mention of the set and below are some links talking about it. It’s available as a video with PCM stereo as well as lossless audio

The one link is for a site to grab the audio.....but the links are dead.

So, if anyone can point me in the right direction....I’d appreciate it 👍🏻

Here are the links:

Yup....that’s it. I saw that and confirmed that a DVD exists with PCM audio, so lossless audio should be available, which at minimum on a bootleg label it is. Also, it looks like a rare official release of the audio is/was available.

So, I’m try to get the lossless audio.....but if the DVD with PCM audio is the only thing around, I can rip that audio just as easily.

So if anybody knows where I can grab it.....I’d appreciate it

Thx again!

Reviving this thread because it seems like something new's coming up! Check out DG's page - it's been updated with a new logo. Album release anytime soon?

Bizarre logo!

Oh yes! What on earth is this supposed to mean? Some 70's flashback? David Copperfield? Also, what's that background? Fur? Waterfalls?

So we’re going to have 9 tracks + 4 bonus (actually 2 bonus + second version of the title track + Yes, I have Ghosts which we already know).

And all are waiting for the tour news…

(Also the release date is Roger’s birthday)

The first song of The Piper's Call - very nice but the last minute and 30 nothing happens. I was expecting a guitar solo :)

I was an extremely idiot to miss DG's gig in Oberhausen a few years ago.
let's see where he's gonna play this tour (last one ? )

He is 78. This will be the last one. He does not tour that much. Last tour was 8 years ago and before that almost 10 years. I expect some UK dates (RAH) and probably USA this year. Next year Europe UK and perhaps a few more in the States....

Could be his last tour, but he said in the Uncut interview that he will record a new album right after he finishes the tour.

We may get some rarities on tour, looks like he wants to give less focus to the 1970's tracks, maybe he has been looking at Nick Mason and thought he would like to revisit some earlier stuff, maybe some stuff from More, that would be nice, maybe some songs from his 1st and 2nd solo albums.

There was some info he was looking at some songs from the last PF albums without RW. Still hope he has some room in the set for a 5 or 6 classic PF songs.

We were 3 of us, each one trying to get any ticket in the RAH, we could get UK presales code, but none of us could get a single ticket in the end, neither in the presales nor in the general sales. The platform just couldn't handle such a load...

I'll take anything, really. Any ticket, any day, any price (except the shameful 4000€ speculative prices from Viagogo).

Does anybody has spare tickets to resale? I'm desperate.

Perhaps he will come back in 2025? On his last tour he did about 15 concerts late 2015 and came back in 16 to do about 35 concerts...

Dates for his second part of the Rattle That Lock tour came in february of 2016. So all we can do is hope for some more dates to be announced early next year  :think

David Gilmour is 78 years old.

We all said it would be great if MK did a small run of show(s) in the same location(s). Can't really complain when Gilmour does exactly that.
