Not officially announced but I believe it's quite reliable. It confirms the rumors I've heard.

Thanks Val :D
You know I've been expecting Mark playing "home" for a long long long time. I don't remember how many years.
Now I can really start my tour schedule ;-)
-
Wow, the Jazz Festival has always such a fantastic ambiance!!! :)
Too bad it's a bit far for me, but I love going to Montreux again, even more with Mark playing there!
Wonder if he'll play in the Miles Davis Hall or in the Auditorium Stravinsky...
A bit small venues, though - great IF I can get a ticket... :S
-
Apparently the programme will be announced only on april 29th

How far is Montreux from the French border?
-
If you like to swim it's about 10 km from the French border ;)
Smoke on the Water :P
Otherwise it's 20 km from the border at St.Gingolph or about 100 km from the one west of Geneva.

It's very easy and quick to take a train from Geneva to Montreux!
Or just follow the tracks ;D

Over the years, I've seen many video recordings of different performances from the Jazz Festival. Do they film everything? If so, maybe that could be a possible DVD... MK doesn't seem interested in making sure it gets done.

YES
Everything is recorded and filmed. AND Claude Nobs was probably one of the earliest person in the world to introduce HD Video recording at a time when there was still no market for it.
So now he can release in real HD shows that were filmed over 15 years ago.
Releasing the show in DVD or BD are a bit complicated because of exclusive recording contracts.
The recordings are primarily made for archival purpose and TV/Radio broadcasting.
Threre are plenty of jewels : check the Montreux sound website (http://www.montreuxsounds.com/)

Fair enough for MK to say it's too expensive to film a DVD as sales are too low, but if this show is beng recorded anyway then surely it can be released.
