Stumbled across this, Nikki Sixx of Motley Crue reckons Money for Nothing was about the band. :)

Well, I think it was kind of random thing, it could be anyone on the tv screens, music in the 80's had lot of bands like that (Posion came to mind...)  ;D

I agree, it's the same as lots of bands claiming that Spinal Tap was based on them.

I've only ever heard one Motley Crue song, but their book The Dirt is a fantastic read.
