As we all know, Eric Clapton has a lot to do with Mark. They played together on many concerts...and I suppose many of you have some interesting bootlegs, both audio and video, not only with Mark. I have only about 11 DVD bootlegs and a few audio bootlegs but still, here is my favourite EC concert:
Spectrum Philadelphia 07/09/1988
Great performance in my opinion !! ;)

All shows with MK !!!! I love Mark's contribution on the solo of Layla best.

...agree, I love Mark

Mandela. :)
For "proper" EC shows I would go for the Beetle Clasher show for audio, and the San Francisco one for DVD.

too bad it is restricked to MK involved shows only, coz i think EC was at his best in his drunk period, so around 74 to 78..evil persona on stage, but awesome performances..

i say Tokyo. 02.11.1988

Really? Interesting. I haven't heard any of these performances, but I have seen him playing I Shot the Sherriff on Whistle Test or something from this period when he was clearly off his head, and he was terrible. Very boring playing, his other guitarist was doing much better than him, not sure who it was though, not Albert Lee.

i am especially thinking of the 74 us shows.

Mandela was not EC show ;)
Well, let

EC. Not one of my favourite players by a long way, although i do own a few of his records.
I find he's a bit boring, he just hasn't got the X factor for me.
But in answer to the question, i have to say i like the playing of EC & MK on the Beetle Clasher bootleg.
I downloaded this quite recently, and the sound is amazing.!!!!!!!

I do like ol Slowhand, and my fave show was Sydney, either '87 or '88 (don't remember when I saw him at the Centre, and can't find my journal for that time). I was in Australia from '87 October to '88 August and in Sydney off and on about 5 months of that time...I had the choice of Pink Floyd, David Bowie or EC, and believe it or not, EC was the cheapest (at $33 a ticket, the good old days) and I loved guitar which was his forte then and now so EC won. A great concert, marred only by a 17 year old in front of me who thought he sang EC's songs better than the Man, and we had to endure his off key warblings until someone in my age bracket shut him down with a very quiet suggestion in his ear...EC was at top form that night, very relaxed and in a good mood. I'll always remember the night fondly.

you had the chance to see pink floyd in 88 down under?
must have been between jan and march....
aaaahhh...got most of it on bootleg, sounds like they were awesome shows...
-
yes, i know, i should have gone for Pink Floyd...but at the time it was about a $10 difference, and in those days the $10 would feed me for three or four days!!
You have my address, Pottel, if you want to be magnanimous with PF bootlegs!!!
