...Live Aid. :)
I was only a little kid but I remember watching some of it and listening to it on the car radio out at my dad's house.

Sitting in front of the television for I can't remember how many hours. Didn't want to miss a thing, every single one of my heroes was there :D

funny, I discovered DS a few weeks earlier! (end of June)

I remember seeing it while being at an grand uncle house.
I was not able to see the whole live aid broadcast because then I was just a kid and adults though there was better things to do than watching TV all day long during a sunny summer day but hopefully DS played early in the concert so I saw it ;D

It were other times: Discovering this voice alone was one of the best experiences in my life so far, really. Asking people about the band, going to the record shop every week, finding new albums there there and then, I still remember hearing Once Upon A Time In The West in the radio for the first time!
How could someone have such a cool, british voice? And I got struck by the lyrics immediately, which means I had to improve my English very fast to know what he was singing about... Sometimes I'd like to have a time machine alone for this reason: Re-live all these discoveries again.
Hearing Sultans from Alchemy, over and over and over again, every single day... And then find out, Hey, Love Over Gold album? , what's that...
Can't believe that this was 25 years ago... Blimey....

Oh yeah, I can honestly say that MK is the best English teacher have had. I would spend hours with my dictionary, trying to decipher the lyrics.

Sorry I'm too young to remember that...:(

I was 9 at the time but have such strong memories of this amazing concert, I remember around that time hearing Walk Of Life for the first time which certainly had an impact but it wasn't til about 2 years later when I really got into dire straits when I discovered the Communique album, boy that's a time I'll never forget.

I don't remember much about DS during Live Aid. It's definitely the voice of Mark when I first heard SOS around that time that captivated/mesmerised/haunted me. I've never heard anything quite like it. I meant everything about SOS, Mark's voice, guitar solo, and the lyrics were unbelievably magical. The rest is history.

I can remember watching it all day & then into the night when the Philadelphia show came on - it probably got more tv time here due to St Bob's involvement - i can remember being shocked at how Dusty's favourite artist Mr Collins could play at both gigs - world time zones & travel were just about to be sprung on me :o :o.
