Hello Everybody,
While listening to 'Big River' for the 1000th time I was wondering if there were more
of those beauties out there I never heard... I know a lot songs, but I discovered in the other topic
'road to hell'... Didn't know that song. (Correction: It's not MK, I understood it badly
So, let's collect all collaborations in 1 list (maybe there is already a complete list?, Pottel must know it ;D)
We can make a kind of database, with attached youtube link by the song.
Comments please :)

Great idea! This site could be a useful tool to start: http://www.kulturserver-nrw.de/home/the-long-road/

It's an inconvenient site :-\ I think we can do it better ;)

We have started a complete discography of DS and MK. Participations and covers are also listed:
http://www.afmk.net/discographie/ (http://www.afmk.net/discographie/)
It's not yet completed.
Sorry, it's in french but we can imagine a translation to english if you are interested.

It's a nice start! Thank you!
But indeed not completed...
How can we get/make a complete one?
For example: Mark is on Joan Armatradings 'Did i make you up' too for example.

I also collected all MK sessions.
Man, that was expensive. One track - 15 Euro. :lol
Look at this one here: http://creedence.6te.net/
Cheers

Jeroen van Tol made a load of compilations of these, so his "Session Work" links are a good place to start:

Mark Knopfler on Chris Rea's road to hell? Didn't know that... Although I know David Knopfler has worked together with CR a few times.
-
MK didn't play on Road to Hell. Clearly a big influence in Chris though.

Does anyone know if both songs of Chet & Mark are on the DVD of the Secret Policemen's third ball.
Or only Imagine
-
There should be both of them

(not sure if there are different versions of this DVD though)

sorry guys, I think I caused initial confusion on Road to Hell - Chris Rea. I'm a fan of both CR & MK (+ others). Anyway Collaborations list is good
Another subject could be - other music/concerts I go to.....??

A new one from Thomas Dolby.
MK plays on 17 Hills some great riffs.
You can download the EP for $3. It is worth the bucks.

But what I heard in the youtube movie is that Mark just played some solo's and sent them over to Thomas.
But the three numbers are really great.
1. Road To Reno
2. Toad Lickers
3. 17 Hills

Yes... I thought 17 solo's
-
Definitely 17 solos! :o It must have been a bit like choosing from a very fine box of chocolates! Mmm, which ones to choose? :P

Very astonishing. Who would have thought that MK is giving so much input into just another session recording? Can you all really imagine that MK recorded let's say, 15 to 20 different solos for his own material? I would think they go as efficient (if not lazy) as it gets and record one or two different versions at the most.
How great would it be to be able to listen to all that not-used stuff from songs like "So Far From The Clyde", "Hill Farmer's Blues" and so on...
