Hi all,
After a long time you didn't hear from me (sorry, very busy with work and all other kind of things), now a short message.
Last night I went to a concert of Joe Satriani. In my hometown, nice venue (biggest one in clubcircuit in Holland, about 2000 standing), I was blown away during 2 1/4 hours of more than excellent guitarplaying.
If you have the oppotunity to visit a concert of Satriani, just go!
Best,
Ingrid

He'll play Madrid in two weeks, so I

Cheers BBB

Yes that's it BBB, worth a good listen. Didn't download it yet, hope quality is ok. :)
-
yup, worth the listen :-)
anyone willing to risk it, buy his "time machine" double album, one live and one outtakes side, mark should do that!!
(the lords of Karma and Echoes on that live album.......jeezes....)

The Time Machine cd2 is one of my favourite cds of all time.
I already bought my ticket to his Madrid concert. Anyone coming to Madrid? :D

just listening to it. thanks jbaent!
-
Thanks, Jbaent. I'm thinking about downloading from dime. I don't know Satriani, so is this a good representative of his work?
-
He played almost everything (if not all) his last cd, which is good, but not the best he did. I found that more or less 15 minutes of the show was very boring, a poor selection of tracks played one after the other, the most boring tracks of his last cd, but in general terms it was awesome.
-
get his "Time Machine " cd irisrose, and maybe the extremist, or Flying in a Blue Dream
-
Live in San Francisco is good too, but the Time Machine IS the cd, specially the second one, the live part. A pitty that its not possible to purchase that one alone...

Joe came to Omaha 4 years ago on a double bill with Eric Johnson. Eric led us into the evening with his smooth, jazz-style guitar, and then Joe came on and blew our socks off. Joe shreds, while Eric is like honey on a waffle. I've seen Eric since then, but as far as I know, Joe hasn't been back. I met him outside later - he's really a cool little dude. I wish I'd thought to bring my Strat to have him sign it!
Oh, and by the way, thanks to Dusty, who provided me with the link to get back in here - since the accident I have memory blackouts where I can't come up with how to do things and in a month or more of being involved elsewhere, I couldn't recall how to get in! That'll teach me to be so long away! ;D
-
lol, nice to see you met one of my other guitar heroes.
and yes, the man is small, but gigantic when it comes down to playing
