Two songs to be featured on the album:

Seems like he's continuing the "sound" of his recent releases, but now with a more "current" political message.

Don't know for how long, but the whole album can be listened to here:

I've been listening to Paris, Texas lately. Great album. Turn her up, dream of the wild west...

It might be slightly off topic, but it is about Ry Cooder, so I dare to ask:
20 years ago, I had a radio recording on a cassette from Ry with 4 songs recorded live in 1981 at the Old Waldorf. There were long live versions on it, and they literally blew me away - wow, what a sound I thought. Years later, when i discovered the internet, I soon found this:
http://www.rylanders.free-online.co.uk/RySite/RyPages/LEdtSingle.html
Those were exactly the 4 songs from that very night, and it seemed the radio station had just played the complete single, or EP or whatever you call it.
Now my question is, if it is not too impertinent, if anybody around here has an idea how I can get my hand on this recording, because my cassette is lost forever, and I searched and could not find anything anywere. My hope is that somebody from AMIT can help me?
Would be very appreciated! :)

Hi LE,
How about this place? http://www.musicstack.com/listings.cgi?find=ry+cooder&t=craz&next= (http://www.musicstack.com/listings.cgi?find=ry+cooder&t=craz&next=)
Basically vinly only, but some offer vinyl + a CDR copy.
I've never heard (or heard about) this one.
If you like the old Cooder sound, I've heard people say Show Time is a great live album. I personally prefer his newer style, as he now sings a lot better.
Here's one of the songs from the EP:

Hey, Jackal,
goosebumps! :o Cool, thanks very much! Hehe, I hoped you would know, seems you are very much into Ry! I will give that site a try, but the YouTube-Link is really awesome, I fed up searching through all that stuff on there, but this one is exactly the song I liked so much then, and I still do!
So thanks again!

Glad to help, LE. Was just listening to that clip now, and wow, what a tight rhythm section. That bass is just amazing.

This is ultimately cool!
I had this concert on VHS video tape sometime in the early 90's, but can't find it anymore - so this is another great surprise! This is a hell of a show, makes you become a Ry Cooder fan immediately! The version of "The Very Thing That Makes You Rich" is awesome! He has a really cool attitude, just listen to the first 3 minutes where he gives a short introduction about the whole thing. Very much fitting with MK's point of view in many things, maybe apart from the rehearsal aspect! How cool it would be to have them both on one record!
Thanks, Jackal!

That's good, you've reminded me that I enjoy his music, so I'm back exploring.
It would be good if RC guested with MK sometime
