Title: Lyrics: Stand Up Guy

Today I was listening to a Dutch radio station and the guy played Gillian Welch's song Tennessee from her forthcoming new album "The Harrow and the Harvest". Great song, I must admit I never listened to hear although I know of course about her contribution to STP.

What struck me was the lyics, especially the line

It's beef steak when I'm working
Whiskey when I'm dry
Sweet heaven when I die

Not only the lyrics but also the whole music of the song reminded me of "Stand Up Guy", and in Mark's song, as you all know of course, there is the line

   I don't hear any resemblance in the music to Stand Up Guy, but I do like the song, in fact I like a lot of her music with David Rawlings.    :)    One of my favourites is Revelator.
