Title: Mark Knopfler my pal
Post by: stevegibsonguitar on March 07, 2012, 09:13:40 PM
Check out Steve my son www.stevegibsonguitar.com

My name is Steve Gibson, I am a singer/songwriter and guitar picker. I started
playing guitar at the age of six and by the age of fifteen I had achieved
Grade 7 with Merit in Classical Guitar with Trinity College in London, England.
When I was seventeen I moved to Saskatchewan with my family to start
farming. My insiration was Mark Knopfler of Dire Straits who my father knew
personally when they were younger and Chet Atkins. This influence comes
out in my style of guitar playing. In the last year or so I have released two
singles to Canadian radio and they are being played all over Canada, the US
and even in the UK. I write and produce all my own music, I have had a couple
of well known writers from Nashville approach me to co-write for me, but I have
declined their offers as my music comes straight from my heart and mind and
no one else can put into music what I am feeling. I am in the process of
finalizing my twelve track album, which is very original and has a lot of good
guitar solos. I have played at many venues including the Saskatchewan Country
Music Awards in Regina, Casino Regina Show Lounge and Craven Country
Jamboree main stage - thanks to CKRM. I am also playing Craven Country
Jamboree again this year. I have had numerous write ups and features in
different magazines. For instance Country Music News which featured a
photo of Beverley Mahood and myself when I appeared on Telemiracle 34 on
CTV Television. I have also this month been featured a full page in the UK
Country Magazine Country Routes. In August I am heading back to the UK
for three weeks to meet up with a Veteran Guitarist from my old home
Town of Newcastle Upon Tyne, where we will be performing a few small gigs.
I feel passionate about Country Music not so much the Old Classics but the
new Country. My music is new upbeat Country which tells a story. Thank You,
Steve.

You can't upload a photo from your hard drive..you need to upload it to a photo sharing site like Photobucket..http://photobucket.com/ (http://photobucket.com/).It's free..once you have the photo uploaded to that site..you can copy the url to the image (insert image) function here.
