I must say that I am not too much impressed by these few seconds. The mixture of pedal steel and folk section reminds my very much of the track "Restless Farewell", a song that is nice by itself but I am glad the the album did NOT take this direction...
And it is only 2:56 min. In the class of Time In The Sun and the other GL box set crap... ;D
I will download it of course.

Thank you, LE! Sounds short and sweet, but from the brief snippet it's hard to make a judgement. :) It sounds a bit like some of the extra songs from GL. :-\ Of course, I'll buy it! ;D

No, it is written in red letters on the right, "nur album", which means "album only", which is a typical amazon mp3 dowonload situation: Normally you can download the single songs, but some of them are only available via the complete album. So for example, you will probably be able to download all the other 20 songs for 0,99

Well, I guess its a matter of wait... Maybe Itunes will have it too, maybe not. "Time in the sun" was available only in amazon, "Early bird" was available in amazon and itunes...
Lets see.
However, its a waste of money, so what we can do is gather some get-a-lifers, put what will be the cost of that song, one by one, and with the total buy the album, and then share the song between that get-a-lifers ;D

Anyway, I guess thats the song that will come with the japanese edition, its not confirmed but it makes sense.
Unless its another one, and then we have 25 songs total!

oh nooooo, I thought I made my decision (after days maybe weeks of thinking about it, pre-ordering and cancelling...) and finished ! and now again a new possibility , a new song...no, that is really unfair, no understanding anymore for the record company :( .

Dont worry about this digital download, its just one song, doesnt worth cancelling other orders... It will end in any individual digital download, and if not LE has kindly offer to buy it for the rest of Europe...

He might tell them "These 20 are the ones for the album" - and then he gives them another "fistful" of songs (5?) and tells them "these have missed to get in my first choice, take them and see what you can do with them... "
And the company and retailers get one song here and there to promote "their" special offer...

Sorry, but that shouldn't be the way to do things.
Much better would be for him to record 4 or 5 more song and release a TRIPLE album. Oh yeah ;D

I would think they were great and therefore they do it all again the same way? Apart from the GL Deluxe box, I always thought the album in general was one of his more successful ones?

GL was one of his successful albums, but not because all of the bonus content! We get a lifers had to buy three times the same number to get 3 extra songs! And now they do it again! To have all the available songs you have to buy the Deluxe version, The box set and the Amazon version! (And I don't want to buy this amazon thing because off the quality)
I wonder if Mark (The recordcompany) is the only artist that works this way. Can anyone tell me if this works the same with 'for example' David Gilmour?

There is no choice for me than to get the songs 'a different way'. I'm sorry, but I am NOT going to spend 500 euro's on ONE single album and only because the record company wants to get so much money out of one album.. I really don't. They could have included all those songs in the super deluxe box. For the five live songs we have to buy the same album twice. Then there is another song at Amazon, a to have that one we have to buy the SAME album in full again... I get a little bit pissed about that...

I think that they lernt that if they put the deluxe edition inside the box, people will buy the box only.
If they put inside the box the standard cd, and the deluxe edition has material that its not in the box, people will buy the box and the deluxe edition.
They lernt that they losed money doing that with GL box...

On second thoughts - no, I won't! If I could have bought just that track alone - yes! I have ordered the 3CD album, but will not buy another album for just a 2.56 min track! I have also rejected the Super Deluxe for the same reason - 3 songs for

It's indeed not nice, I bought all versions except the vinyl (which is in the box anyway) and now I have to buy another one.
By the way the 2 CD version is to give away, gift for a friend, because it's not useful for me when having the 3CD and box

Yeah, too many options. I think that record company will be disappointed that so few fans buy their Super Deluxe box. I think I will order 3 CD version.

Ah well, there must be someone out here who's willing (here: crazy enough) to buy and share the song. There are five additional studio tracks, the five rehearsals and live shows. I guess there are some people around here having a great 'digital exchange day' together, ehhhhhh, listening to all great live performances I mean and accidentally taking each others USB sticks home (oh dear!). I call this my vision of the future. ;D

It's really only 'hard core' fans hat get annoyed about all these extra tracks spread all over the place. To the average punter (I.e. amazon customer) its just a bonus, and likely to be something amazon themselves pursued rather than MKs management.
I seriously doubt MK concerns himself about making maximum $$ from getalifers - after all, this is the same artist that isn't interested in re-releasing Badges Stickers etc. etc. or promoting Alchemy... blah, blah, blah.
I'm sure these 'annoyances' are driven by various companies such as iTunes, amazon, the record publishers...

Sounds like a nice little song, but you can hear, even from the snippet, why it wasn't included in the album. Just too harmless, I guess. What I found intriguing, though, was the combination of pedal steel and celtic instruments - I don't think Mark ever did that before, or anybody else, actually. A true innovation, if you will.
And regarding the extra songs in general, how they are being sold: This is pure tactics, a dying industry desperately trying to milk loyal hardcore fans as much as they can. I don't feel obliged to play that game. I've ordered the deluxe set because I like the art work and I want the extra songs, but any song I won't get with that set - and that I can't buy separately – I'll just download for free (I don't have to tell you where). I'd be more than happy to pay for every song I want, but if they don't give you that option – well, f*** them. Let us not be fooled.

Sounds absolutely lovely from what I've heard of it. Looks to me that a similar thing to what happened with the non-album material from Get Lucky is happening again with Privateering. Three bonus tracks on the bonus CD in the box set plus one or two others released as downloads. I never downloaded Time in the Sun or Early Bird because neither were made available in the UK, as appears tone the case with Your Perfect Song.

Probably it will be available in itunes when the record is released... "Early bird" and "Time in the sun" were released digitally some time after GL...

As it says it will be available from 31.08. on I will check the site at 0:01 on Aug 31st... Maybe I cannot resist to download it, who knows...
