Title: The presale codes (MK.com)
Post by: border_reiver on August 29, 2012, 03:41:46 PM
So I got my presale code today. Has anyone else got theirs and did you use them (if so - how)?

No! Where do you live?

Maybe it's easy when people put their country in their account.

Sweden. And *bad word*... just recently got this from CDON.com (the participating presale online store in Sweden) as I preordered the standard edition as a gift from there.

(freely translated)

You will soon recieve the album by the mail and as a thank you for pre-ordering Privateering you'll find a unique code below which will give you advance admission to the ticket sales at MK.com before they are publicly released.

MK is coming to Sweden during the summer of 2013 and the ticket sale is linked to the concerts below which you are able to purchase tickets for with the above code between August 30th and September 2nd. To use your code please visit MK.com, create an account and make your purchase. Don't forget to register your code before checking out. Your code is valid for up to six tickets, which must be bought at the same time.

Unique codes my a$$  >:(

One half of the country is sitting on the same deal as those who bought from MK.com...

"Robbed" blind, again...

It's the exact same info sent via the email from MK.com.

The difference is that I may use the MK.com in multiple countries. The "local market code" is only applicable nationwide.

And, there is absolutely no way of telling which option is superior or inferior.

Could you elaborate please ? I don't understand why you think you have been robbed, you don't trust that the code will allocate your seat in priority ?
Title: Re: The presale codes (MK.com)
Post by: border_reiver on August 29, 2012, 04:37:26 PM
I'm just saying that in the past MK.com have offered "special" things that turned out not to be very special at all.

The only thing that have remained somewhat unique for the fans (members of MK.com) was the presales. Now when you open the door to anyone in Sweden who preordered any version (even the standard version) of Privateering from CDON.com the presale and MK.com lose that last thing that makes the fans a bit more "unique".

So people will only register to use the presale, most will probably never support the official online community in buying the next Deluxe and Super Deluxe editions at the same time from MK.com.

What's the word, oh yeah - leeches...

I hear laughter down the street.
Damn it, they all laugh at me.

Yes, it started good and it will end in tears. Or rage. What's the matter with them! And no "official" forum to discuss it. But I guess they accept complaints. No pre-sale code for me, even if that doesn't mean much.

How do you get to that ticketmaster presale?

You may have a better seat allocation with a code than without. Who knows?
Remember that the assigned seat is send way after the presale end so....

We should ask MK.com about the use of the promo code....

Question:

I ordered the Deluxe Edition (in Germany) which will be available from Sept 3rd and at my place probably at wednesday 5th... I was checking the order -
there is no sign or info anymore about thes presale code stuff? Did amazon delete it all, is it still availbable? To be honest, I will download the digital version tonight and bought this thing alone because It's nice (physically obviously) AND because I want to take part on the amazon seating thing.

Any ideas? I have no info in fact that I can preorder with any amazon code???  ???

This what I would think at first but no official confirmation to date (or missed it).

I guess fo  GA shows, will there be an "mk.com ticket with code entrance first " and  then "MK.com ticket without code entrance" before everybody can come in?

(that suck I missed the stall presale and as it appears that I probably won't make Amsterdam)

This business of presale codes all seems a bit confusing, I had missed that if you preordered the album you would get a promo code that might get you a better seat than the normal MK.com (without a code) presale would. I was in the second row last time- we'll see where I end up next year.  It also seems a bit of a cheat to offer a free basic version of the album when you order 2 tickets through MK.com  as the fans are mostly going to want (at least)the deluxe version with the extra tracks, and if a lot of them have preordered to get the promo code for the tickets they will be offered a superfluous 2nd copy before the album is even released ! . It's obviously a just marketing ploy to get us to order everything through MK.com.  I noticed that the day that the old MK.com forum & "red pages" disappeared the membership had gone up by over 100 in the last 24 hours in the build up to the presale.

But in order to use the code you had to register for MK.com and become a member...

So either way, everyone who bought the presales were MK.com members automatically. What became the difference was the code.

And as MK.com told me

" I can confirm that your promo code was verified and you will be receiving priority seating"

When you book your concert seats through MK.com, if you book 2 seats you get a promo code for a free copy of the basic 2 CD version of Privateering. (UK only)  Seems a bit superfluous if you have just bought the deluxe or super deluxe version -  I didn't realise that you got a promo code if you bought the album though MK.com that could get you "even better" seats in the presale until it was too late. It's all just cynical marketing to get you to buy everything through MK.com and I'd like to think that MK was not aware of this, but who knows. It's the same situation with the "extra tracks" that we had with Get Lucky- some will only be available on-line. If you buy the deluxe or super deluxe CD/Vinyl packages, you should get ALL the music  . >:(  Rant over.   :disbelief

So, pre-sale for Bremen starts in 45 minutes - and I really don't know what to do... Should I use my amazon precode or not?? Some says it gets better seats, some says, without the seats are the same.

However, it will take some additional time to fill in the code so the advantage might be compensated by that...

decisions, decisions.....

Any suggestions very welcome...

I see there an advantage using the code ... amazon(Germany) writes you will get the tickets as E-Tickets per eMail to your registered address. So you would have your tickets in hand and there would be no pick-up at the venue .... if we can trust amazon ::)
Title: Re: The presale codes (MK.com)
Post by: Love Expresso on September 03, 2012, 08:41:27 AM
I read it properly a minute ago (for the first time... ) and now I see it just as a another way of getting new members for mk.com... I also wondered about the e-ticket thing, but that  might be another describtion of what we are used to for years - getting a confirmation mail and then have to wait for the exact seats.... So I guess it is really only interesting for people who buy at amazon and are not yet mk.com members... and to make sure the membership is coming via the amazon shop, they have to give in this code... whereas the advantage, priority seats, should be the same for ALL mk.com members....

In my book it's simple:

a) You have to be a MK.com member to get presale tickets (included those who even register today!)

b) So you have the code

c) What's the difference between an MK.com member with code / an MK.com member without one?

d) The code!

Conclusion: MK.com staff told me I have got priority seating over those who didn't have a code.

I didn't use it anyway.
The question was more: Are amazon.de quotes "worth more" than the usual mk.com membership, means, would you have access to BETTER places when using the amazon.de code compared to "just" being a normal mk.com-member for years...

However, it is lapsed now..

Yes, it does sound all confused and convoluted, but thank you 35Strats for explaining! I've been a member of MK.com for a long time now, but have never seen this kind of offer before.

My sister pre-ordered the deluxe version for me as a late birthday present, and my girlfriend's getting me the box set for Christmas, so all I've done is order tickets off of MK.com this time around.

Having to buy several versions of the same album, to get all the tracks, is quite a sting, though.

It was a double joke Ingrid.  ;D
Of course reality is harsh enough.  You can't possible save any money nowadays. Especially if you are out of work. And then it is the high cost of life, taxes, and special contributions for the government. Savings? I was lucky enough to sell some collections of mine to buy the new album (which by the way, I still wait for). Study money? You have to eat to reach a certain age and go to college.

But still I find it quite disturbing that I am not even given the chance or choice. Lesson learned. Won't be burnt again.

But I really think that's the reason they don't do Greece now. And I hope Greece will do better in a few years.

Syria, Armenia, Iraq, Iran, Cyprus, Georgia, Bulgaria.  ;D
Fingers crossed. Only problem with booking, has to do with currency, if you catch my drift.

it was clearly stated that the planning/announcing is not over yet. switzerland is still missing, so is dublin, and so is greece. i am sure, looking at the rest of the tour, that Athens should be in it, DESPITE the crisis. it is not like all bands have stopped coming (or have they?)

As long as they receive advance payment in euro dollars they will keep coming

Apart from Red hot chili peppers that were booked a year ago, this years' concert calendar was rather poor. I find it strange because I have heard of special concerts in Dubai, which is far away, extremely hot and with limited site seeing, when Greece certainly has an advantage. But there is a lack of trust and a plethora of negative statements to match. Anyway, the Athens airport taxes are rather enormous, thanks to the company that runs it, but If Athens holds a concert I would really be happy to meet any of you coming and help you around the city!
