Title: Guy
Post by: peterromer on September 03, 2012, 01:38:51 PM
Hi,
Do you ever think Guy would perform, lets say "Different World" at a MK concert or another track of his with MK and the rest of the band ?
Maybe its all about MK (  ;D )  but if I was MK, and had this longtime "co-worker" in Guy, with whom I  joined in on guitar on for example the above track, I would say, why not surprise the audience a bit and do something thats not mine"....

Maybe Guy is a hired gun as has to do his own stuff on his own terms.

At this clip from Toronto 2001 you can see that the sound not only comes from the Harmonica but from a special mic that Mike Henderson uses. Go to 3:40 min of the clip and you will see how Mike hands the mic to Mark and he sings through it to get that special effect...  8)

You will not see the dass drop  at the end because I remember that story started later at the tour. Toronto was a pretty early date?

Now you get me going...  ;D

Don't you think "Pyroman" would have pretty well fitted into the new album? It is proof that this kind of blues is absolutely not newish to Mark or just a nice try as some reviews seem to suggest...

Cool song it was!

:D    yes indeed it was (is). I totally agree that it would have fitted Privateering perfectly. Also "Millionaire Blues" would be spot on on Privateering.

Only if he played as supporting act !
In 1996, Guy played alone on a lap steel "Hawaiian Lullaby" at the end of the show, after The Long Highway and Local Hero.
He didn't play it at every show, but in Paris, yes !
