My Dad just heard on his car radio (that is always tuned into Smooth Radio) that they are following MK on tour and they were going to broadcast the Glasgow concert. Don't know for sure or if he picked it up wrong and I didn't hear it myself but here is a link on their web site that doesn't really say much at all: http://www.smoothradio.co.uk/events/see-mark-knopflers-new-tour/20733

Would be great! Trust your Dad!!!! ;D
Glasgow would be on May 17th, so a few days AFTER my first show, so I would really appreciate a good recording of it! Perfectly set, not before so it would not spoil the fun for me, and after the show I will be longing for some "souvenir" for sure...

His mind is solely on golf this morning so I will keep an eye and an ear out and ask him for more details when he gets back!

I've just quizzed my Dad on what was said exactly and he said that he heard they "will be covering the Glasgow concert" whatever that means, and "to see their web site for more information." So it does sound like they will broadcast it but nothing much on the site. As I said, my Dad has his car permanently tuned into this station so wait and see I guess...

Great news if they can broadcast the show. Right here waiting...

You can always send them an e-mail and ask
;)

I got a response from their head of presentation and he said:
"Hi David,
In answer to your message.
We are co-promoting the Mark Knopfler gig but not recording it.
I hope that clears up your question."
Too bad. :(

too bad indeed. Thank you for following up :)
At least things are very clear. Unlike certain management and record companies never able to provide complete and correct information. And most of the time no information at all

Oh, no. But thanks anyway. Hope we can still enjoy the show reading fans' review and seeing the photos taken on the show.

I really don't know how things work out there, when broadcasting live shows, but from my experience in Greece from 1992 when broadcasting from Bazel, it was murder. The full show, no doubt about it,(even the exit music after the show-Monty Pythons if my memory serves me well) but they had a Greek announcer that was not very informed and made mistakes or said unnecessary things, speaking between the songs and sometimes over them. I taped the show but was grateful to find the show in silver CD years after. Still have it somewhere if someone is interested.
