Hope mk.com reads my mail and sends me those two order numbers once again... (sorry for repeating myself ...)

Pottel, section 107 is not bad.
I 'm still hesitating between 107 & 111. I will buy in 111, further from the stage but center.

Antwerp: section 003, row 1, seats 5,6,7,8

Code from amazon.de when you bought a CD you got a presalecode which could be used at mk.com presale, so actually a pre-presalecode

Mrs twm is not happy with the RAH seats. For the three shows, they vary from Row 7 to Row 19. The odd thing is that the Row 19 seats were the tickets she secured first, before she bought tickets for the other nights when the seats are closer.

As she is a Hamlet scholar, perhaps the notion that something is rotten in the state of Denmark (or, in this case, the state of "mk.com") has entered her mind.

I'll be honest : I have similar thoughts.
I guess they plan to give us the best bests for the swiss shows.  >:(
Actually, the only times I got great seats from mk.com were for Montreux and Zurich. I didn't order faster nor slower, but maybe as a local I was entitled to get something better.

Those MK.com presales have always been a mistery and a major disapointment to me.
Probably the tip is to order more than one ticket, if possible from a friendly country.
At some point it's really not worth it : the seats are not good enough if you consider you can not transfer them.  ???

Yes, the same happened to me! And now I hear that "some countries residents" have received promo codes and some other's not (by ordering from the same shop, that is!) I don't need to ask any more...

I don't think so. I guess there will be no Swiss show, therefore Swiss residents did not need to get codes.

I don't know Roland Dent and I don't think it's worth nor adviceable to play whatever game...
I prefer to not playing their game by not playing at all.

To have said that:
I am truly very happy for all my fellow fans who have done it right and got great seats!
But I know that the way it was organized there was again a lot of space for scalpers to get the best seats in the house.

I was 1st minute of Cologne and row 7, but had no code, so I suppose that's the reason

I don't think "code" or "no code" is the reason. I have ordered Berlin and Frakfurt with promition code from amazon.de at the same time exactly at sale start at 10.00 and recived confirmation mail from mk.com at 10.03.

Berlin row 1 and Frankfurt row 5 - I can't belive that rows 1-4  in Frankfurt were sold in 1 min.  A few of amiter got 1. row in FRF, and I doubt that I was slower or  whatever..
It seems to me as a kind of lottery  :-\

I don't know Roland Dent and I don't think it's worth nor adviceable to play whatever game...
I prefer to not playing their game by not playing at all.
Oh, you don't know him ... He knows everything on everything ...  ::)
I must admit I have an unusual logic and sometimes useless things are a big source of motivation.
Let's say I need to put the diesel in the tank.

To have said that:
I am truly very happy for all my fellow fans who have done it right and got great seats!
But I know that the way it was organized there was again a lot of space for scalpers to get the best seats in the house.
Fully agree.  ;D

Row A, block HH seats 3 &4 for Glasgow.

I think the ticket Ingrid has for me is front row too?

So I'm very happy.  :)

RAH 27th May - Arena F Row 3   27 & 28

RAH 28th May - Arena F Row 2   25 & 26

Hi superval-
We are in row 3 both nights, in the high teens and seat twenty so we will share the row on the first night!  Very exciting.

I'm happy with our assignments; I didn't have any code.  It's small consolation considering I don't yet have the album.  I preordered from MK.com and have an assurance I will get it.  Waiting patiently..... :)

Hi KitKat!    I am looking forward to meeting you!   :)      Here's hoping your album arrives soon.  It's well worth the wait!

I got RAH 27th May  - A Row 2 15 &16 (next to Knopflerfan I think)
        RAH 1st June   - F Row 6 31&32

Reasonably pleased although I got row 1 last time so it's a shame I couldn't manage that again.
Also Row 6 31 & 32 as they are in the side section they are level with Row 4 in the centre section (although slightly worrying that on Ticketmonkey.com there is no F row 6 !)

RAH May 27th Arena D, row 21, seat 27
RAH May 28th Arena B, row 19, seat 10
A little further back than I would have liked but oh well, I'm just happy to be going. I've never been to the Albert before.
I looked at the seats on the seating chart but I'm trying to get a sense of scale. Have any of you attended a concert from these relative locations before? Are you able to see the band members facial expressions and such from these seats?

Well, the seating in the arena area is not tiered so your view may be somewhat obscured.  I'm afraid you are about three-quarters of the way back so you'll have a good view but not a great one.

This is what I dislike so much about this priority booking thing;  one should be able to choose one's seats.  I bought mine by clicking refresh every second up until it finally went through and still didn't get front row centre!  Can't really complain though this time but I've had bad seats in the past.

You were quick, because the first row wasn t up for sale.

And I'm getting the slight impression, that the pre-sale code wasn't superior to the normal booking procedure. In some arenas there must have been a reservation for the first rows for other reasons than the MK.com pre-sale. Does anyone know more about it?

first rows: reserved/not for sale via MK.com
second-best rows: for sale via MK.com
third-best rows: for sale via MK.com using an amazon.com pre-sale code

Don't get me wrong, I'm quite satisfied about my seating allocation, but where I thought to have been very quick I used the code and got a very mediocre position.

I don't know about at the RAH but when I went on MK.com for tickets to the St. Paul U.S. show, I could choose from certain sections and certain rows. For example, the floor seats began in row six (my guess was that rows 1-5 were reserved for Bob). In the section I chose (which is my fav to sit in anyway), MK had rows 1-6, but other excellent seat sections were not included as choices at all. Although I couldn't choose seats or rows, I at least knew the vicinity of where I would be sitting.

Thats why I was waiting for stalls... I dont get why they didnt offered stalls this time. Well, yes, actually I know why, looks like the RAH had deals with several ticket sellers and promised them a large variaty of the tickets, and MK.com didnt asked or dint had the chance to ask for the stalls...

Best seats in the RAH, except you get the firsts rows in the arena.

It's always been the stalls I've had and it's a very good view.  Better than the choir section that I sat in one time.  Interesting view over Guy's shoulder!  Never been in the arena yet simply due to the non-tiered seating but I thought I'd risk it this time.

RAH June 1st Arena B Row 11.Booked through MK.com and transaction was through seconds after it opened for pre-sale. First time ever in the Albert Hall after years of visiting the soul-less NEC/LG Arena in Birmingham and was really hoping to be a little closer. Title: Re: Seating Allocated
Post by: tunnel85 on October 05, 2012, 04:12:33 PM
My understanding of seating allocations is that someone at Crocky's has decided they want to play Tetris during 4-6 weeks.
They have a list of ticket orders and a seating map. Here we go.  ;D

At the beginning (the first rows)  it's very easy, first in first served. Inevitably, they quickly get overloaded when too many big 4,5,6 seat blocks. All the seats must be in the same row, very complicated. Must delay to next row. That allows them to fill the previous row with whatever they want. You may get lucky. Or not.
Another strategy is to preferably put the big blocks in the middle and small one on side.
Sometimes last minute there's a guy in the crew who needs 2 great tickets to impress a girl. No problem, they have 4-6 weeks to release the seating map. Two people will disappear from 1st row  and ...  they will probably spend the rest of life wondering how come they were so quick and got only 15th row...

What I'm saying is for most people it will be first in first served and a few ones may not understand.

Two years ago, the ticket I actually got at one venue was different from the one I was assigned by email.
Not very professional and I'm weighing my words. That's one of the reasons why I can't trust them anymore, especially when I get a poor seat.

All are bad; even: the more tix, the worse are the seats.

On two occasions I bought five tickets in a row, both times I got front row.  Alas, the 2nd time around they were right at the end and the view was terrible;  I would have preferred to have been 20 rows back, centre.  So in other words, I don't think number of seats matters.

I don't think all what is written is true. I have 1 seat in Newcastle: 1st row. 6 seats RAH first night first row. But 3 seats Cologne 7th row (but didn't have a code, which seemed to be crucial in Germany this time). So maybe my internetconnection is faster or whatever, but I don't see a connection between number of tix and seats

This is so painfully disappointing I even think about not going to London at all. Flight and accomodation cost quite a lot, not sure if it's worth the financial trouble just to sit in the back of nowhere. Yes, I am still totally, utterly pissed.

Don't feel too bad, the RAH isn't actually that large.  When you're low down the floor area is actually relatively small - looks much bigger on TV.

It hasn't much to do with size. Row 6 and further is bad in the RAH; I've been there several times and so has goldenheart96.
Even stalls are better because they're elevated.

No, I don't think there is, either.
Strangely enough, however:
I've booked 2 (veeery quickly!) for one night at the rah.
Later the same day I've booked another 4 for the same show.
How come I was assigned 6 bad seats all next to each other in row xy (sfa...) ?

Its like the Tardis Effect that Guy mentioned...

If you are not Doctor Who fans, the tardis is a space ship that its used to travel in time/space, that from the inside is very big, but from the outside is just a Police Box (like a phonecall box, but blue).

The RAH is like that. However any seat in the hall is good, probably the worst ones (except the circles) are in the floor because of all the people seated blocking your view.

Like this (made extending my arms as much as I could...so actually the view is worse than you can see in the picture)

No, I don't think there is, either.
Strangely enough, however:
I've booked 2 (veeery quickly!) for one night at the rah.
Later the same day I've booked another 4 for the same show.
How come I was assigned 6 bad seats all next to each other in row xy (sfa...) ?
That's the missing piece that solves the puzzle. It clearly shows they do what they want.  :(

If I refer to their own rules "We assign our seats on a first-come, first-served basis, and we have assigned your seats as close
to the stage as we possibly could given the volume of orders placed just before yours came through.", you should have been assigned two groups of seats : 2 "better" seats and 4 "worse" seats. The only possibility to have 6 seats together is nobody ordered in-between, which I doubt.   :think
Then there's something wrong :
On one hand, we can say there were a lot of orders otherwise your seats would be better.
On the other hand, getting 6 consecutive seats despite delayed orders show that there were not so many demands.

That's a fascinating paradox.  :think

The only logical reason is mk.com has been caught in a time warp !   ;)

Anyway it's good to see that most AMITers got great seats !  :thumbsup
