I wish you guys could have been here to hear it. In my area of New Jersey, it didn't rain that much, but the sound of the wind gusts is absolutely unreal. It's akin to a freight train right outside of your window. That's the best way to describe it. Sure, I've heard howling winds during thunderstorms and snow storms, but certainly nothing of this degree.

Remarkably, I haven't lost power, but from what I've read several lower levels of my office building in lower Manhattan are currently flooded. Again, that seems almost unreal and to my knowledge has never happened before.

And already we have rumors of multiple deaths across NJ, and Atlantic City in the southern portion of the state is still underwater. It's a total mess.

Thanks guys for the thoughts though.  :wave

Really hope the folks on the American east coast are ok.

I have several friends and aquaintances who live in New Jersey, in the Asbury Park area.
Gave it a try to get a hold of them on FaceBook and heard nothing so far. Hope they're ok.
Since I also have their phone numbers, I will see if  it's still possible to give then a call......

Dan please, if you can, send us more reports... From the other part of the ocean, news are always very catasthropical, so a little real thing will help us to be more calm about all of you.

Who IS Ian Thomas compared to "in goal" TW anyway?  Terry played at Live Aid, Mandela and Alchemy.  Enough said.

The last I heard the death toll was at 35 and climbing. This was a serious storm. There was a lot of talk before and even during the storm in real life and around the web that this storm was being over hyped by the news media. These people thought the true affects of the storm would be minimal and that the sense of panic the news media had created was unnecessary. Well, they were wrong. This storm warranted all of the hype it received and the reported death toll and the millions of dollars worth of damage backs that up fairly soundly I think.

:wave Good to hear you are OK Dan. Yes we have seen live coverage at times, in the past 36-hours and the storm surge alone was very like the footage from the Japanese tsunami. Nature can be pretty unforgiving when it wants to be!!

Heard from friends lving in NJ. They have no power, but they are safe.
The damage is terrible though..., will take a long time before life in NJ gets back to normal......  :(

But pfew..., it's still a relief to hear my American friends are safe.
