You should drink AFTER the concert, Pottel, not before it. No need for pee breaks, then.

Is it impossible to stay for an under  2h concert without a pee break?

Ah, a nice single malt.  That's more like it.  I don't drink myself but can't resist some of that!

For the Rome show on July 13, which was general admission, in order to get close to the stage, as soon as doors opened I ran and staked my spot, stopping only for 90 seconds to grab a sandwich and a bottle of water, which I sipped on miserly, lest I needed to go pee! The wait was 2 hours 45 minutes before Mark hit the stage, and they played for 2 hours. It took me another 1.5 hours to get to my hotel room, and I had left my room 2 hours before doors opened, so....I went without a pee for more than 8 hours!!! That's willpower, and bodily control!

wow ! How you did that was beyond me ????  Last year in San Francisco. I struck up conversations with Dylan's fans, and we took turn saving the spots while making a visit to the ladies' room.  :)  There's no chance in hell I would take a pee break during the show, talk or get any drinks !!!

If its any consolation, Song For Sonny is a VERY therapeutic song to play on guitar, acoustic or electric, it just has a great drone feel that you can annoy your family with for hours...

Regards 'Pee Breaks' I'm not sure I've told this here before but one of the most surreal concert experiences I've ever had was having a leak whilst Eric Clapton was wailing out a blues solo at a local Winery - red wine + Eric's 20+ blues songs = I gotta GO!!!! ...it was superb. :)

And to ds1984 - I recently (over) indulged in some laphroaig! It was a total blast on the taste buds, my mouth and brain felt like I'd dived into a peat bog and came out breathing smokey fire!! Great stuff, but best to enjoy on only very special occasions, for me.

What a great thread !! :)

Although I tend to 'hate' SFSL, I played it a few times today, simply because it's sooooooo boring but that makes it awesome too. ::)

No need to worry about confessions IMO. That's the beauty of music, we are all entitled to enjoy what songs we want. SFSL is in fact genius in my book but that's just my opinion. Amazing lyrics and stunning guitar, especially live.

The joy of Knopfler's songs is that there is something for everyone.... Not many artists can pull that off. Oh and regarding Romeo & Juliet, for me it's simply one of the greatest songs ever penned and just beautiful live.

Hahaha...  Also very good for running, for the same reason!!  And while I don't care much for Don't Forget Your Hat, it is also quite nice to have on some of my running playlists... [/quote]
