Look at tonight's setlist : the Seattle to Haul away part is the longest half hour or the tour.
Just miss Miss you blues...

Thx Dutchessy and Ingrid for the live setlist . I had a early call for work and a late return, and had no time to peek on my phone to watch the final setlist.

same setlist as the first RAH night with So Far Away added.......GREAT ;D

Love to hear Nigel on sax during S-L.
Nice to let Ruth bringing her guitar on stage , I mean just like e.g. during Local Hero 3 band members are playing (different sort) of guitars, Richard, Mike and John. So how kind of Mark to give her the feeling that her guitar playing skills matters!
I am (almost) sure Mark asked her to play...............That's what makes Mark so genuine.

Yes, he is very low in the mix indeed.  It's easy to miss him up there playing behind his keyboards or you might even forget he actually is playing at all!

Its a continue repeated kind of "choking" thing he does on a blues-harp.
On the sbd-sticks , if you have purchased any, you can hear it better, although I have to say that later in the tour esp.
during UK part it became more clear on the sticks too. So maybe the soundtech gave him a bit more volume on the mix-table during the tour. At first I thought he got the sound from his synth. :smack

during UK part it became more clear on the sticks too. So maybe the soundtech gave him a bit more volume on the mix-table during the tour. At first I thought he got the sound from his synth. :smack

Yeah, it is hammond kind of repeating pattern. And it is audible but I think it does not add very much to the song so it is good that it is not very high on the mix. Playing fast harp with different fills is really not easy task.

Song for Sonny Liston to replace SOS wonderful!
I strongly regret to have missed that  :P

Is it "lard ou du cochon ?".... ;)

No better than Song for Sonny Liston to replace almost any other MK song, it always will be a wonderful move.
The better is the replaced song, the greater I'd like experience this.
I have strong hope for end of June to get Fish and Bird / Secondary Waltz / Monteleone,  and expect a huge  surprise : WOL being back in the setlist.

Still any doubt about :think  ?

Guy seems to be playing harmonica on Gator Blood, but on the YouTube recordings you can almost never hear him play anything. Is he very low in the mix?

Its a continue repeated kind of "choking" thing he does on a blues-harp.
On the sbd-sticks , if you have purchased any, you can hear it better, although I have to say that later in the tour esp.

you're right it does not add much to the song. On the Privateering Album the great harp player Kim Wilson contribute on different songs:

Don't forget your hat
Miss you Blues
Hot Or What
Got to have something
I used to could
Bluebird
Today is OK
After the Boonsteak

I was hoping Kim could join in on one of these songs during the 2013 tour.

so on the original  Privateering album the harp during Gatorblood was done by Guy, you can hear it the best at the end of the song 03.59  :think

 :D :D :D LOL  :D :D :D :D

seriously, I DO love Fish and the bird and Monteone, on albums, but I agree it doesn't fit to live experience.

About Sonny :

I love : the riff, the solo, the trio thing, the blues mood, the guitar tone...
I don't like : the monotony of the song. it should need some melodic changes, some more licks between lyrics, maybe 2 solos, etc...

when I listen to Youtube versions, I go directly to the solo.

What I like on this song is that the solo change almost at every show, mainly during last tours

and by WOL, of course you meant Water of love ?.... ;)

serioulsy (again) Walk of life is the song that brought me into DS world, so I must admit I like this song.
and many tours had interesting arrangements :
- I'm listening many 2001 gigs these days, and the Mike henderson solo is always very nice !
- in 96 Glenn's solo  is very cool
- in 91/92, Marks is sometimes playing nice licks before the pedal steel solo
- in 2005 : I know it was slower, but Mark improvised a lot with different licks
- and of course THE Mandela version : great EC !

If EC would join again for WOL this would be another story.
