Title: Liverpool to win the Champions League 2008/2009 season
Post by: Waterline Man on October 28, 2008, 04:21:58 PM: OK a little bit off the music topics, after our result on Sunday against Chelsea we must be in with the best chance for years at this stage of the season to win this years premiership.As far as I'm aware SuperVal is also a Liverpool fan - are there anymore scousers out there? I know Dusty is'nt cause he's an Alex Ferguson >:( lover :-* as he was manager of Aberdeen at one stage ;D ;D

C'mon the super,super reds - superval - superreds ,get it????? ::) Wouldnt it be great to see Stevie G 8)with the trophy over his head in May :P :P

As for last night well that was a differernt story - it was a blatant penalty - Ray Charles 8) would have given it 100 times out of 100 :P :P As Raffa said after the match "if it had happened out the pitch it would have been a free kick" - nuff said ::)

Now,he didn't exactly say who the free kick would have been for though????? ::)

Sorry, didn't read this before! Edinburgh teams are indeed Hibs and Hearts. They both have much smaller supports than Celtic and Rangers, partly because Glasgow is much bigger than Edinburgh, partly because Edinburgh has a bigger interest in rugby than Glasgow, and partly because Celtic and Rangers have perpetuated a nasty sectarian opposition to each other based on Celtic being a Catholic club and Rangers being a Protestant club.

All that said, my team are Aberdeen, who were the last Scottish team to win a European trophy (we have won two in fact). :)

In fairness Manu beat a poor Chelsea team yesterday,Scolari would need to smell the coffee,he has too many prima donna's & over 30's on the team,their legs & will to win is gone & he needs to get them motivated again which is not easy when you have the likes of Drogba playing up front.The wife was hoovering yesterday & she accidently hit the TV & Drogba fell over ;D ;D

I still think we are the team to beat,look we are not playing great at the moment & we're still top of the premiership & Torres is just coming back from injury.Manu are due to get a few injuries & suspensions shortly & we'll coast to the title :P ;)

Whats ever worse is that we play Chelsea on Sunday so we'll be taking points off them or they will be taking them off us,the utd fans are laughing their @?[%2

According to the news, some parts of the country missed it because the adverts came on at a most inopportune time! :o My brother, who is a fanatical Liverpool supporter, would probably have been hiding behind the sofa by that stage of the match! Anyway now we can concentrate on winning the Premier League. ;)

Mind you the home shirts that Nike came up with for this season do make us look more like Charlton than Arsenal,Blimey !! We've even played like Charlton at times this season ;D

I dont know whats after happening,we've had the best chance in years to mount a serious challenge & we cant win at home or beat the strugglers????Saturday was the last nail in the coffin,because thats the sort of result we were getting over the past few seasons - in fairness to man u that sort of result would never happen to them ::) ::).
Its all about having decent players & a decent squad - & we have a few good players & no depth in the squad im afraid :-\ :-\.

jbaent,the only suggestion i can make is to join your local suporters club.I have managed to get a few tickets that way.First you have to become an Arsenal member though.For non-members it's very very difficult to get tickets as most games are complete sell-outs to members only and hardly any games go to General Sale.Hope this might be of some use.

Nah,it has to be O'Driscoll - O'Connell is a leader anyway so by making O'Driscoll captain you will have a 2 leaders on the pitch - one in the pack & one in the backs.That was supposedly the tactic by the Irish management team anyway ;)

Yes i`m a Man Utd fan, but Liverpool supporters should admit that Benitez got loud and stupid over the last two months in desperation and i predict Benitez to be sacked, Man U to sell Ronaldo to Mardrid and Fergusun to retire!
As for the game tomorrow, Man Utd 2 - 1 Barcelona

Can`t recall who it was, but the Barca midfielder who ran 20 meters, unchallanged, and passed to Eto must have thought all his birthdays had come at once! :( Yes the most deserving team won.
