I'm happy for Murray: he deserved to win playing a very good tennis and showing in the whole tournament an outstanding grit.

There is a sad, very sad, link with MK.
Andy Murray was born in Dunblane, the Scottish town sadly famous for the massacre in elementary school in 1996.

Andy was at that school in that day!

As many know, our Mark plays guitar in a moving version of Knockin' on heaven's door, dedicated to the memory of those little angels

77 years I think.  And won on the day of the 7th of the 7th month...  Spooky!

Extra special to me since Dunblane is only 20 miles from my hometown and where I still live.

First British MALE to win in 77 years.  :)

I was at the Dunblane tribute show the billies played in 97, very moving.

Some of the kids were there, maybe Andy too.

Old post revisited I know but as I've been searching through my own archive this weekend, I couldn't believe it when I found my copy of the 'Dunblane' single that it's been 25 years this year (13th March 1996) since the sad day at Dunblane and subsequently since the master put his guitar on the single....
