Hi folks,
one of my favourite song of all time in MK story is The Last Laugh. This track has never been proposed live and is always poorly cited by music critics on radio or newspapers. For me it really is an absolute masterpiece. Someone could quote me some interview of Van Morrison talking about this collaboration or someone knows when the recording was made? Any other news on Last laugh I'm very interested.
Thanks

I think he sent the recording over to Van, who recorded his vocals in Ireland and then sent them back. I have an interview somewhere saying that.

hi Dusty, I did not know that Bob Dylan played The last Laugh in his radioshow .....when?
and Banjo in that article nothing else about TLL, because I remember that in a italian magazine called JAM suppose that TLL and both STP are tracks donated from Van Morrison & James Taylor to Mark because too perfect for the two songs that for the style of Mark, as says 'it is not possible to say that Mark was so good'......

A really good song.

Also one of my favorites :)

I think that at least MK was there when Van recorded his vocals as I recall reading that MK suggested Van to do another take just to make sure, and Van said something like "That one was good, no need to do another" or something like that.

I do recall a story that Van (who doesn't like to do multiple takes) did a fenomenal first take but the technician in Mark's studio didn't have the tape running... So Mark said "did you get that?". When the answer was "no" Mark had pretty angry look on his face and Van wasn't happy at all do it again.

I was just reading an interview in record collector from 2000. In it he talks about Van and how much he loves his music. He was asked his plans for the future and he said he would like to do an album with Emmylou Harris (done) and one with Van Morrison. Now that would be amazing.
