Long time nonstop oleoleole gives our man a lot of pressure. He can't resist Spanish fans' passion of the masterpiece.
Hope ingrid gets lucky.

Why should he relate that OeOeOe thing to Sultans?

Holes, mi amigo Jose B., have a great time. I checked spanishcity this morning and it brought me back a lot of sweet memory of being in touch with you guys and sharing bootlegs years ago.
-
Actually the first time DS played Oeoe was in Dublin, at the very start of the OES tour.
In Spain we sing Oe Oe to encourage the musicians to play more songs, I guess Mk liked it and decided to play along... But it started in Dublin, at least in OES tour.

I assure you that HE CAN. He could yesterday as it was written previously in the setlist. And to make it pristine clear, he changes guitar at the end of R&J as fast as he can.
No opportunity unless is decided before in the set list.
About this, I wanted to ask Guy, what moment thinks it should be shouted oeoeoe once sultans is off. But as I know the answer (useless), i decided not to.

Guy said they decide to play what THEY want but I think they play this set because they can play it with their eyes closed (Mark closes them) and are sure to make no mistake. It must be perfect but we'd prefer they dare some changes !
-
thx for the setlist pamplina and Holaknopfler.
for those who are there: ENJOY :wave
-
I think that one main reason for rather no setlist changes at the end of the tour is that they are playing outdoor gigs without band soundchecks. If they add a song which was not played for some weeks they usually rehearse it during soundcheck. This option is missing these days.

Are these shows outdoor festivals ?

Ok thanks ,
but why no sound check ?
-
Not sure. Maybe it is not possible to do a "proper" soundcheck when half of the town is able to listen to it? In a closed venue, it is possible to keep a little bit more secret about the soundcheck maybe. I could imagine that it is not for everyone's ears when they rehearse or do little tests... Just a theory. But
I must admit that Holger_MK's explanation is the best so far and brings a new light into the endless setlist discussion...

So, the game is between Diamond/Gator/Sonny/Haul/Speedway, each night choosing three of those five till the end of the tour.

Thanks LE,
though we do have e.g. the 2001-07-02 Madrid soundcheck at the Ventass Bullring with good sound. Great to hear some (complete) songs played during the soundcheck. And funny to hear that the band and the sound engineer Robbie are having fun about some lyrics from Pyroman. The complete soundcheck lasts about 27 minutes. (OEB)
1.Speedway at Nazareth
2.Drum check
3.Speedway at Nazareth - last part again
4.Some guitar sounds
5.Romeo and Juliet
6.Not much going on
7.Intro of Who's your baby now
8.Silent discussions
9.Intro of Who's your baby now
10.Verse of Who's your baby now
11.Not much going on
12.Harmonica sounds & fun with Pyroman lyrics
13.Various instruments

On earlier tours they did soundchecks even on open air gigs but on this tour they are usually arriving late at the venues, especially for the very hot spanish gigs. The soundchecks are done by the crew. It

You know that Mark don't use to do special mentions in the shows. I can add that, although Mark's guitar is clearly influenced by Cale, it seems that there weren't any relationship between them.
-
you maybe right ,as Guy mentioned in his forum, they only played together once in 1985 , and that's it.
Mark also did not mentioned Pussyriots at all , and he is against their capturing and is very involved with there well being and works for their release. ( with others).

just got back from Malaga and the concert Saturday great concert , really enjoyed it was great to see sonny live because the other 5 concerts ive missed it ended up being 3 rows from the front by john and it was powerful the Spanish crowds were so full enegery and quiet a young audience I would so compared with the others ive been too,
I managed to catch the sound check (without the band) from the castle above bullring and you could look down on the bullring and see everything , they basically must of plugged in a recording of I dug up a diamond through the speakers until levels were right you could here them changing levels etc, then the when through marks different guitars this must of been 5pm-6ish I think
but great concert loved it
