Do you remember the Fame TV series from the 80ies! I didn't have a TV back then, but I was lucky to see an episode re-run during the early nineties that contained the arrival of a new student that claimed to have known and learned from well known guitarists including our MK. Look at around 10:00!

Ha! Recall this series in name only. Obviously not very memorable. The MK reference is though; not often is one used so brilliantly and on it's own without being in a list among other artists.

Apparently michael cerveris, the guitar player is very well known in the states as an actor and he is also an accomplished guitarist (for real) issued his own album and had played with many well known musicians, amongst others Bob Mould!

later in the episode he talks about Prince, if I understood correctly

Haha, just when you think you've seen everything MK related, these little gems come up. Awesome find. I used to watch FAME when I was a wee little lad. superb Knopfler reference
-
He simply claims to know everybody, with their first name. Mark, Ian, Richie, Mick and Keith, Prince etc... ;D

that little portable amp...lol...

References to MK show up everywhere! I was at a draft horse show a few years ago when SoS was played for one of the competitions. The SpyGames film from around 2002 has a track from an early DS release. I'd have to watch the film again to say which it was. The track was uncredited! How can they do that?

I can add another one! I recently saw the film Bandits with Bruce Willis and Billy Bob Thornton. Rudiger was on during a scene :)
