McCusker's new project unites musicians

YOU'D think it would be music that would spur on the many different line-ups multi-instrumentalist John McCusker has become involved with.
But it's friendships and chance meetings, just as much.
"I've always seemed to have managed to make friends with people or get excited about new things. And I'm as excited about this tour as I have been with anything," said John McCusker, the man behind Under One Sky, his latest project to hit the Highlands.
Best-known as a teenager for being invited to join The Battlefield Band as their fiddler as a teenage student, John's 11 years with the band saw him tour the world and learn many different instruments along the way

"The tour will also be captured on film, John revealed, as a documentary is going to be made of the dates over the next few weeks..."
why john and not mark...

My thought exactly. I don't understand how its economic for John to do it, with a much smaller fanbase.
In fact lots or artists with much smaller fan bases release live DVDs all the time, like Steve Earle for example.

Who needs to do it most to further their prospects?
John is very talented but I suspect also very ambitious.
That and his great talent are going to make him a big star in his own right.
