You will all have received the mail that the concerts of the Get Lucky tour are again available for download from bleecker street. So I wanted to ask our members with elephant memory what shows they enjoyed the most from that tour. I remember Love Expresso mentioning the Locarno 2010 show one he treasures much. Do you have other recommendations? Thanks in advance for your help.

In 2010 just one RAH show was on sale, now they are ALL the 2010 RAH shows...
I will run and buy them fast just in case it was a mistake and they notice about it and delete them!
-
This is pretty cool!
And i guess it is a good sign! When Bleeker now starts to sell them again, it seems they are happy with MK. And that will probably mean we will have a completely covered usb-stick-tour next time again!
And the London show-stint is indeed spectacular. Now somebody tell me if the other RAH 2010 shows apart from the first one are all good, too!
LE
And yes: Locarno!

Wayaman my favourite is probably the Paris show. Great peformances, great sound mix and probably soncially the best recording of the Get Lucky tour.
From the 2013 Privateering tour the Antwerp Show is a must have in my opinion. Amazing version of I Dug Up A Diamond. Though from that tour some of the English shows are wonderful too. Vocally and sonically the recordings of the first shows from the Privateering Tour were not good. Think Mark had a soar throat and a cold back then. Which shows Mark is still human. Kinda pitty though, cause during those shows they played for example Yon Two Crows.

Downloading the second RAH 2010 (31.05.) right now. Will take a few minutes. I will report.

LE we want an extended report! ;D
-
Ok then it will take two hours before delivering as I have to listen to the show properly! :wave

Ok, or tomorrow. I gave Sultans a sort listen, good, but after all those months listening to Privateering shows, it is really a surprising experience to hear a "new" 2010 show.. Mark's voice sounded pretty weak and lame I thought (hang-overed?) , and 2013 had really much more energy, I guess it could be Ianto... Never thought I would say that.

Glasgow 2010 was a good show, special guest Phil Cunningham.
-
I agree for Paris, fantastic ! But i'm biased...:)
They should offer the 2005 shows as well ! Great wii, great tr, great energy !!
-
Well we already have 2005 shows, albeit in not great quality.
The real omission is 2008...
-
I do have the 2005 shows... but still I would be pleased to know that they are available in HQ for everybody !!
2008 is not an important omission IMHO, 2010 and 2013 are better, and the only missing songs would be TLWNF, Canibals, DGTK, nothing really important !
The real omissions to me are 1996/2001 !!

There are Soundboards of 2001 and 1996. Not much, but there are.

Not officially recorded and mixed ones though, "officially" being the main word here. :)

2001 Soundboards (unofficial): Toronto, San Francisco, Lucca and Hamburg.
-
But 2001 soundboards sound quite bad...

Yeah, they have that sort of compressed sound. Similar to the 2005 official ones in fact!

you can add Los Angeles IEM which is soundboard in a way

Funny that the audience recording from this show is so good that I prefer it to the IEM because it offers a better balanced sound and also the atmosphere which isn't apparent on the IEM's, of course.

totally agree
soundboard recording doesn't always mean better (for example the cleveland 85 recording is awful imho)
and of course the aim of the IEM mix is for musicians feedback, especially Mark in the LA 2001 case, it is not to be listened by the public
the only advantage I see in this recording is if you want to focus on the guitar playing, but I prefer the audience recording too

Hum, in 2010 he did a 6 gigs residency at the RAH (May30 -June 4). So the last one is still missing and the two opening night of the european leg in Ireland as well.
-
Dublin is the only one I am interested in, because I was there and it was a great show. I hope it eventually surfaces.

It is great to have proper recordings now from the RAH nights 2010 and just out of fun I re-visited the 2010 tour threads of these nights. Some interesting stuff to read, AMIT is great at all times!! There was some discussion that MK "butchered" the night of June, 3rd, and in general, Monday and Tuesday (31.05. and 01.06.) were judged as very good. No sign however why the last night again was not released this time.. Strange.

The RAH shows are always pretty special. So thanks a lot for reminding me to re-visit the old threads. Now I'm more eager than ever to listen to a new album in autumn and the next tour!!!

In the mail they say all the Get Lucky tour recordings but the US leg of the tour isn't concerned. It's a pity, they played Remembrance Day a few times...
-
Yeah, Tim O'Brien playing too. Boo.

They probably meant "all existing Get Lucky tour recordings" which are the ones Ulf Ronneberger recorded (indeed the band itself records every single show soundboard since 2005 I think, but those ones are not for sale, only made for the dungeons). So the company started to record the 2010 shows from the first night in London until the end of the tour. It seems to have been successful as in 2013 they were allowed to record the Privateering show completely. Hope they will do it the same with the next tour.

We have witnessed that in a few case this is the band recording that was effectively used.

I remember some British shows with that band recording, right? Can't remember which ones.. remember however that it was said to be much better recordings.. They suddenly turned up at the website but I cannot remember the exact circumstances...
