Interesting back-story about The Princess Bride. Cary Elwes has a book on it coming out Tuesday.

never knew that (bout mark only participating for that reason)

I've read the hat story somewhere before. I always thought that MK's local town reference during SFA was a bit Spinal Tap inspired, especially with some of the longer European town names.

Great melodies but the soundtrack is spoiled by the crappy fake orchestra (sorry Guy).

Exactly! Double that. Hey everyone, check out track number 15 on this album:

Amazing version of Princess Bride Theme with real orchestra, sounds really good.

Interesting, the cover didn't really scream quality music :)

Love the soundtrack, despite not liking the synths, as you've already mentioned. The hat incident-story is well recorded and was part of the promotion for the soundtrack. And I just love the small role of Peter Cook. Sadly missed.

it's also in the booklet from the remastered CD version. Don't know if it was in the original LP

Thanks JF! Didn't read it off the remastered CD! It must have been from a magazine or the 7'' french single. Can't put my finger on it.

Yes, the story was printed on the LP-cover - I rememeber because as a child I had no clue what they are talking about
great soundtrack indeed
