Following on from hearing Mark's recording of the last post last night, I decided to play a medley incorporating Piper and The last post on my latest MK Strat for both for my Grandfather who was a submariner during WW1 and also to all who played their part during WW1 too...
Hope you enjoy

Both songs are very touching. And your approach is, too. Congratulations.

Thankyou very much.... Please note the new recording my wife did this morning!!

Very touching, especially the second version! Thank you! :)

Thanks val - much appreciated... :wave

Heard it, too. Wonderful again.
"Piper to the end" reminds me of a deceased uncle, not because of the wart, but tired and torn after years and years as a truck driver.

You should be very proud of your Grandfather. Very nice indeed.

Many thanks for your reply DMG, yes I am very proud of him - espeically as I have both his WW1 medals and paperwork too!

That's wonderful. Whenever I see people on TV selling their relatives medals I can never understand it but I suppose to some it can be a memory and a time they'd rather forget...

Very nicely done! The 2 songs fit together very nicely!
I also figured out how to play the Last Post from Mark's video, and it's actually not that hard.
My great-great-grandfather also fought in WW1, and when I played the Last Post this weekend at a family party, they all liked it.
I play it on my Les Paul, just to try to get Mark's sound on his Pensa, but my sound is still rather weak in comparison to his!
