Okay so i'd like to kick things off by saying a big thanks to whoever moved this slightly further up the forum, great to have this section.
So new cd's 2015, i think it's a good way to get everyone involved and go across different genres. I have a feeling a lot of us have the same taste but we'll see. Now, this is kind of aimed at albums RELEASED in 2015 but if anyone has bought any old classic albums then they are welcomed. As some people may have seen recently on Guy's forum I bought John Martyn's 'Solid Air' and fell deeply in love. Don't know if it eclipses his Bless The Weather album for me though.
Just a very quick look back at 2014:
The War On Drugs - incredible, Lost In The Dream made me buy their earlier two albums and they do not let you down. On a sidenote to that one of their former members, Kurt Vile, his album, Wakin' On A Pretty Daze, same kind of music great album but not as good as The War On Drugs for me.
Though they came around the scene before 2014, i discovered them only last year - Haim. You would have all heard one of their songs even if you didn't know it. Very catchy pop rock but they're all so incredibly talented musicians and there's a real nice feeling knowing they're all sisters.
Finally, Hiss Golden Messenger. His album 'Lateness of Dancers' got such great reviews and I found it by fluke online. I was not disappointed. Folk/country but very much deep south feel. Went out and bought his previous two albums and both have some great songs, i recommend people start with the first album mentioned as a whole or the song 'Jesus Shot Me In The Head'.
Other quick shouts go to Bright Eyes, any folkheads should know them! And David Gray's 'Mutineers' his best work since 'White Ladder' for me.
I do have to mention a local guy near me (Northampton), Kenneth J Nash, who released an album 'The Fall Of Eden' at the end of last year which has gathered some great reviews around England. I'd recommend anyone to give some of the songs a listen, he doesn't disappoint.
So that's it, there's a lot there, but thought I'd kick it off in detail. So if anyone has any thoughts on mine, recommendations or what you've bought recently then fire away!

Sonny Landreth is back in March. A pure blues album based on new material and famous covers he does at live gigs.
And Mike Henderson recently released a new one.

Checked out new Bob Dylan's record and it's fabulous! Going to buy it on CD.
Reminds to me Paul McCartney's 2012 jazz effort 'Kisses On The Bottom'.

Thank you BloodGator. Always a topic I miss nowadays. It used to be one of my fav topics when I had the time to listen to all the new music I wanted.
The last War on drugs album was exceptional, reminded me much of 80ies Springsteen with a contemporary production. I took a listen to the rest you mention, Haim is OK, but not my cup of tea at the moment. Hiss Golden Messenger, is nice actually! He has a strange yet unique voice! I have many Bright eyes and David Gray albums, but have stopped buying their new releases for 5-6 years, due to lack of time. Hopefully I will find time to listen to their new ones. But I will try Kenneth J Nash!
Pottel, I am waiting for Guilmor's as well, but my hopes are not that high. I find that I enjoy his albums much more if I don't have any expectations.
I will probably buy Dylan's, but mostly out of habit. (of course his Bootleg series is something fantastic!)
The 2015 releases I am interested:
Darren Hayman - Chants for Socialists (the Hefner frontman in one of his best works after Hefner. Putting music to Morris' songs. )
Belle and Sebastian - Girls in Peacetime want to dance (Their new album. A bit different from their previous work, but it feels comfortable to my ears)

Pottel man, nothing to add to the legend I'm afraid. Really demos and work-in -progress. Just a way to market the same old and admittedly good albums. No wonder that the expanded editions on vinyl were only 2-3 euros more expensive that the single discs. The first one has an interesting live concert. And it is no wonder we don't get any hidden diamonds. Page was always using the remains in later albums (part of Physical graffiti and Coda)

Don't you love the sound of this steel guitar? I think building an album over this fascinating instrument is cool enough.
I thought it will be another 'I can do american songbook too!' type of thing, but turned out like original and relaxing CD.

I like Wilco a lot and just ordered Tweedy's 'Sukierae' which got some great reviews.

nope foma. i find it a boring pedal steel guitar. gimme paul franklin or jerry douglas anytime. even though i know his pedal steel player is an ace...
